# 2- Sin Management Obsessions

In this second commentary let me swing to the other side of the pendulum. From what sin should not necessarily be to what the positive response would look like and then we’ll come back and meander between the two poles. In essence, the heart of the gospel is not about SIN, but about the Kingdom. Where’s your emphasis in life? If you spend all your time trying to overcome sin or be delivered by sin, you’ll be eaten alive by SIN- the very thing you’re trying not to do. Remember Paul in Romans 7?

The focus of the New Testament and what Jesus was communicating was the KINGDOM!

Kingdom NOW- not manana.

Jesus came to tell us that the Father is all about LOVE. He revealed to us that that life is about Himself, the last Adam, not the first Adam. The church is into controlling people and mediating the gospel to the point that the focus is on the first Adam, original sin, not original blessing. And I have to ask. Why is it that the first Adam has so much control over the vast majority of the people (those going to hell of course), and the last Adam (Jesus) seemingly gets the crumbs, or the left overs- the few?

How in the hell (metaphorical word) does that work? :-)

Natural Adam is more powerful than spiritual Adam? Come now!

Jesus didn’t come to rail on us, rain on our party and parade, or condemn us, but to tell us about reconciliation. In fact, to BE that reconciliation between the Father and we homo sapiens. In the old Adam we die, but in the last Adam, we live. Let’s talk LIFE! Let’s quit watering down the gospel, distorting the place and power of sin, and starting LOVING!

Let’s remind ourselves and others that we ARE Sons of God.

This I know. The more time I spend on seeing, feeling, and receiving the love of God, which is always being extended to me and from me, the less the LAW has any hold on me, let alone any power. I truly feel that SIN abounds because the church keeps holding it up in the mirror before every one, every week, reminding us of how sinful and wicked we are.

Tell yourself how much God loves you. Tell your wife, your kids, and everyone how much God loves them. As my momma told me over and over, “Son, you’ll catch more flies with honey than you ever will with vinegar”. I still don’t know why I’d want to catch flies, but I get the deeper message.

How you doin’ you fly-catcher you? :-)
