Order of Friar Minor. Doesn’t sound too exciting does it? But, on this first cool evening of the summer, I am enjoying the low humidity and low temperatures, comparatively speaking. What did we do before internet, computers, and wireless networking so we could set outside and enjoy nature and my St. Francis Of Assisi waterfall. I know, watch TV, right? Church order is primarily about rules, structure, doctrine, and meeting each Sunday at 11am. The order of church service is not what this site is about. An “order” is about practice! What is the lifestyle that a group practices: Franciscans, Dominicans, Benedictines, Trappists, etc. Continue reading ‘What Is An Order?’
When someone approaches me and wants to ask me a Bible question, I have a question that needs to be answered first. The question might be disguished by asking how do you read the Bible? That will give me a clue as to how deep or educated they are in the question. My second question is usually which Bible translation do you like or use. And then my third question is the killer, how do your primarily translate the bible? Continue reading ‘Who Wrote The Bible?’
The digital world allows us to reach out to an electron universe that is so vast, complex, that you can’t underestimate it. And therein we have two alike concepts. I believe that God is greatly underestimated and if there is a vast and complex universe, it’s only because the God who created it is much greater and far more complex. I hope that I will be able to dialogue with people around the world. as I have on other web sites and links that you see to your right, and to open your ideas to a God that maybe you had not yet experienced. We need to quit being so hard on those who lived 2,000 years ago. In fact, we need to be thankful to them for their contributions to the journey of faith that we’re all on. But on the same hand we need to quit using the “same thinking” that they used! They did the best they could. They told us of the world as they saw it, as they understood it. We live in the 21st century. COME OUT! Come out of 2,000 year old intellectualism, and come into the reality of the world in 2006 (as bad as that might be). Continue reading ‘Bible Revelation!’
Who was Jesus?
You can get a lot of answers with that question. Matthew asked that question as well. The answers keep coming and I’m sure that most poeple have had numerous descriptions of WHO Jesus was. And, I’m sure most people have had more than one opinion as to WHO Jesus was. Theologians are still feeding us new information as to this man who changed the course of history; who hopefully has changed your life as well.
Some see Jesus just as a religious zealot who came to a very bad end. He was a kind man who had a passion for His heavenly father. As we elevate our view of Jesus, others saw Him as the ultimate sage and wisdom teacher- a man way ahead of His time. He proclaimed an unconventional wisdom that many had a hard time comprehending. He was a subversive wisdom teacher.
Of course many saw Him as simply a MAD MAN!

You’ve probably heard a statement similiar to this, “I love God and the church, it’s the Christians that I can’t stand or tolerate.” In a like fashion, I love the Bible, it’s a dear sacrament, a treasure. I don’t know who I’d be, or where I would be without it. But, it’s some of man’s crazy interpretations of it that I can’t buy into at all. Interpretations that drive me crazy, even if that’s only a short distance. Let me elaborate. Continue reading ‘Biblical Interpretation’
It’s really sad that psychologists and management consultants reserve their very elite to work with the church, or to work with strong Christians. Why? Christians prove to be the most difficult to work with, the most intolerant, and the strongest in believing their own views. I’m not saying this- the experts are.
Why is INTOLERANCE the strong suit of the church?

I believe Jesus is the only begotten son of the living God. I believe He sits at the right hand of the Father. And as I said in yesterday’s commentary, if Mary was a virgin or not has nothing to do with Jesus being sinless (for me): that He WAS SINLESS is all that matters to me. The creeds that man had 250-350 years to mentally arrive at, were far from anything the authors of the Bible as we know them thought. Continue reading ‘Jesus Son Of God!’

Change In The Bible
From yesterday’s “Who is Jesus“, to today’s What is the Bible?
The Bible, for me, is not only a progressive view of man’s ideas about God and spiritual things, it is a book that is working out a progressive transformation in me. I am not who I was at 22, nor 42, not even at 62. For you see, I turned 62 ten months ago. Once you get close to that black hole, called the Holy Spirit, you get sucked in faster and faster. Ten months in the “spirit lane” is something akin to Psalms 42:7.
It’s much easier to look at God from afar!
