Discovering God life will change your world! And the Spirit is calling us to now discover your strength in Jesus. NOW! Eckhart Tolle may seem like a New Ager; however, his calling us to live in the NOW, the present, is nothing more than a restatement of Eccl. 3:15. Unfortunately, too many groups have made discovering God nothing more than an intellectual exercise. Too many fundamentalists are more interested in proving the Bible as literal than they are in showing God’s compassion. Continue reading ‘Discovering God’

How can we pray? How should we pray? How effective is prayer? In the Old Testament, Micah asks the question in chapter 6 (vs 6-7) in a different way. He wants to know if sacrificing animals is what should be done and if so how many does God want? In the New Testament, we’re told that the prayer of a righteous person “availeth much“. What’s that really mean King James? Continue reading ‘Hail Mary Prayer’
We are FREE!
But, we have been imprisoned so long that we don’t know what FREEDOM is, or we have fears of what we might do if we were truly free. The grip that our fears have on us is amazing and so much beyond consciousness that we’re unaware.
We’re FREE to FOLLOW GOD! Let’s get on with it.

What’s the difference in being religious and being spiritual?
I was asked that question recently. It comes up every now and then; usually when things are getting heated over church doctrine. Aren’t they both the same? My answer is usually in the form of a question back to them. It’s like asking, what’s the difference between a taxidermist and a veterinarian? I mean in both cases you get the dog back! ![]()

What the heck does that mean? How easy this phrase rolls of the tongues of people that are called Christians. What is salvation anyway? Is it as easy as most churches in America say it is? Magic salvation- simply say Jesus is your savior and you are IN! Salvation and baptism, baptism and salvation; a one two punch and you’ve done the deal. Or so many say. Continue reading ‘The Lord Is My Light And My Salvation!’
A popular phrase in the last decade has been, who is your daddy? Who owns you? Who has your number? Who are you beholden to? It’s also the title to “B” rated 2003 movie that never made it anywhere. I guess the producer-director didn’t know the answer to the question. But, one of the most important questions that one will decide is, who is your MASTER, as in who is your TEACHER? Continue reading ‘The Master’
I used to like to quote that verse that says I must decrease that He can increase. John 3:30 was so easy to quote because it was all about John and not me. It was a verse to quote that made you look good, which was really nothing more than an attempt at false humility. Most people saw through it, particularly the world! You can’t get there, you can’t even go there. You can only BE THERE!
Say what?
Only the God IN US can recognize and commune with “the God” of this universe. It takes BEING to know true BEING, the ground of all being, God the Father. Sound a little New Age? And what is new age? Isn’t this a new age? Are we still afraid of rainbows? Do we still want to live on the other side of the Euphrates, from whence we came? Or shall we live this side of the Cross where we can BE not only IN the light, but THE light?

Where are the true spiritual leaders today? Who can we trust?
It’s been slow but sure. The erosion of faith in anything of value in America has been unrelenting. Most historians would say that it all began in 1963. Vatican II had opened in 1962 with great hope and promise but in the midst of the meetings, Pope John XXIII died and with his death the great dreams of so many Catholics died as well.
In an amazing double whammy, 19 days after the death of the Pope, John F. Kennedy, who had promised us a “New Frontier” was assassinated. On a larger scale we then saw America’s defeat in Viet Nam, and America became a land of young men and women who started rebelling against any and all authorities. Within a decade we also saw how untrustworthy even the highest office in the land could be as Richard Milhous Nixon is forced to resign as president of our once proud nation.

The Things We Do
The most dangerous people would be whom?
I am sure that everyone can come up with a list. What I find interesting though, from my informal personal poll over the years, is the difference in what scares Christians verses non Christians.
Non Christians seem to be concerned are about rapists, terrorists, and perverts who might try to lure their children into a care after school. Christians on the other hand, while also concerend about the list above, seem to obsess on various demons, non-conformists (a different view than theirs), and acceptable church doctrine (that which is not acceptable to the Christian is of course heresy).
In other words, Christians are always on the look out for cults and evil villians!
