Smart But Spiritual

So much of life is an And-Also proposition. We need to be educated, raise our consciousness, but not get so smart that we out-fox ourselves. Some of the most deceived people are what the world would call intellectuals. But, someone who is truly smart and intelligent walks by and in the Spirit. Let’s look at what Jesus and Buddha said about that. Continue reading ‘Smart But Spiritual’

# 20- Who Needs A Virgin Birth?

One of the greatest obstacles to becoming who God created us to be is the IMAGE that religion has made of Jesus. Jesus was a man who made the trip, completed the journey, and showed the universe that man can have eternal life. Nails and a cross are only “effects” that cannot destroy the Spirit within us all. As with all of humanity Jesus was not perfect (there are no absolutes in the 3rd dimension of life), but he attained perfection. And in so doing He showed us that WE CAN TOO! Continue reading ‘# 20- Who Needs A Virgin Birth?’

Five Religious Traps

Religion in America has become so commercial and so smooth at how it accomplishes it’s purpose that few can discern the mine fields. They are hard to detect because they appeal to our egoic desires. In other words, we’re being sold what it is that we’re looking for, not realizing that we’re looking in the wrong places. Why are you where you are- where you worship and are fed? Do any of these five sound familiar? Continue reading ‘Five Religious Traps’

The Kingdom Call

Jesus didn’t come to start a new religion, though we’ve made one out of a few of His teaching(s) and a whole bunch or Paul’s interpretations. The trouble is that we’ve lost our way, or more importantly our foundation- the Kingdom. There has to be a fire within our bellies for the Kingdom- here on earth. Or, maybe the better Biblical metaphor would be “living waters” from our belly. Continue reading ‘The Kingdom Call’

Following Jesus- Not Paul

I used to quote I Corinthians 11:1 but, now I am making the transition to DO what Paul said I should do. But, why did it take so long? Why have I followed PAUL so much? The answer is probably because that’s what I was taught. So much of what the CHURCH and what RELIGION has dumped on us came from PAUL and not JESUS! Consider these thoughts. Continue reading ‘Following Jesus- Not Paul’

More Buddha Than Jesus?

**This is a follow up from LRC Houston which you might read first.

When one takes a look at Buddhism and Christianity, it becomes apparent that Buddha has had more of an impact on his followers than Jesus has had on His. Ouch! Buddhism is the religion of the East, but Christianity is not as much a religion of the West as you might think. Here’s my point. Continue reading ‘More Buddha Than Jesus?’

Are You Listening?

Jesus is no longer speaking to us from His humanity, but by way of His Spirit, that which we call the Holy Spirit. He promised us that when He departed that He would send the Spirit to tell us all the things that He didn’t have time to speak. Jesus said we’d know the truth because the Holy Spirit would share that with us: not as a one time thing, but as we lived life. So, why aren’t we listening to Him? Continue reading ‘Are You Listening?’

Living In Fear- Part 2

I’m putting part #2 in case you opted in at this point. Going back a day to the previous commentary will help set up this thought for you which in and of itself is pretty radical. Yesterday I said that God is NOT a PARENT. How could IT (neither He nor She) BE since God is SPIRIT? Well, let me pop another religious balloon if you will. God is not a SERVANT! Continue reading ‘Living In Fear- Part 2′

Spirit, Not Institutions

So many people run off to home groups so they can hide, not be accountable, or have to face the heavy hand of their institutional masters. Believe me, there are as many masters looking for slaves out of the main stream as there are in it. Just because you wandered off into a smaller stream doesn’t mean you’ve left all the wolves behind. And I’m not implying that those who join a home group are all running. They are not. But, let’s be honest here. Continue reading ‘Spirit, Not Institutions’

The Transformational Journey

People can get lathered up over John 14:6, and do! Jesus is the WAY! Ok, so what does that mean? Christians will tell you that unless you confess JAY-ZUS, never mind that His name was Yeshua, you’re going to hell. And you’ll burn there in eternal torment. Wanna confess His name now. Since when did fear and intimidation become the salvistic method of choice? <!–more–>

<!–adsense#article–>

When you really start looking at Jesus through 4th dimensional glasses, and ultimately you have to if you want to attain any degree of enlightenment here on earth, the fuzzy logic of the fundamentalists begin to fade away!

Hallelujah! :-)

What in the world is that WAY then, besides the name of Jesus or is that all it means?

The WAY is not logical!

The WAY in unconventional.

The WAY isn’t traditional at all.

The WAY cannot be boxed and totally defined.

And here’s the kicker, the WAY is not religuious, but spiritual!

Jesus actually lays it out for us if we want the specifics. In Matthew 7:21, we’re told that Jesus says you’re not on the right path just because you proclaim His name! Say what? You mean that day I went before the church and said I was giving my life to jesus wasn’t enough?

That’s what Jesus is saying, not me!

He goes on in that twenty first verse and says that only those who does the will of the Father, the Spirit, the Consciousness of the universe. My translation is this. The RELIGION of Jesus, as is summed up by PAUL, is not how you gain entry into the Kingdom, but Don’t tell me that! Sorry Charlie.

Salvation is not a one time woo-hoo!

Neither is it a warrior like Hoo-Ahh!

No, you have to walk the WAY! You have to resonate with the universal and eternal truth of the Spirit. That’s what Jesus taught- aligning yourself with the WILL of the Spirit! Any, and I mean ANY religion or religious group that says that they know all and contain all the truth, has actually gotten in the WAY of the truth and now block it! Any group that divides people is working against the Kingdom of God!

He’s speaking now: you listening? :-)
