Spiritual Life

Everyone has a worldview and the world viewed (two words) is determined by their worldview (one word). Pretty straight forward stuff that somehow we lose sight of too easily. I consider myself a “wannabe mystic” so in that regard I see the world through different glass than say a religious person would. I also see the world not primarily with my ethical glasses ( I do have a pair) nor through moral horn-rimmed glasses that many fundamentalists wear. Continue reading ‘Spiritual Life’

The 100th Monkey

When does one reach critical mass in a direction, event, or endeavor? What makes it possible for a person to run a sub four minute mile? How does a nation go from being agnostic to Christian or vice-versa. What is the tipping point where there is no turning back? What causes nations and societies to to fall apart that were once on top of the world? Is it simply the 100th monkey principle? Continue reading ‘The 100th Monkey’

Color Blind

When you look at your neighbor what do you see- who do you see? We’re long past the stage where we should see a light-skinned Irishman, a dark skinned Spaniard, a creamy-skinned Cajun, or a black-skinned Ugandan. What we need to be seeing is what the One who created that person sees- a beautiful workmanship being transformed into LIGHT! Continue reading ‘Color Blind’

Dogmatic Theology

As we look into the near future, who is best suited to lead us? Should we be following the skeptical scientists who don’t believe anything that can’t be proven? Or, do we follow the dogmatism of organized religion which is intolerant of any other religious ideas that don’t square with their doctrine. Do we follow the skeptics or the intolerant? Must we choose? Continue reading ‘Dogmatic Theology’

Hardcore Reductionism

Reductionism is an approach to understanding the nature of complex things by reducing them to the interactions of their parts, or the concept that the sum is equal to the parts. And, this can be said of objects, phenomena, explanations, theories, or meanings. Descartes gets the credit for intrducing us to this concept. Continue reading ‘Hardcore Reductionism’

The We of Me!

In John 17, Jesus makes a strange request. He wants us to remain here on earth, not fly away with Him. And it’s His desire that we ALL become ONE with the Father as He was. Isn’t that what the Kingdom is really about? How are you doing with that?

Seventh Sense

How long will it take before we see that we’re living too much out of our physical, human nature? How long before we realize that we must join with all others on this planet to increase our collective consciousness for our survival! How long must we wait before we see that our five senses, and even our sixth sense, isn’t enough to make a major leap in consciousness? We need to move on to embracing our seventh sense.

You know about the five senses and the sixth sense (our intuitive nature). But, what’s the seventh?

There are so many different realms of reality. There’s so much more than our own physicality! Our seventh sense is that which we know but can’t easily articulte or measure. But, it comes closer to the real us than anything else. We live in a multi-layered world of which we as humans are multidimensional as well. Complex! We are so very complex and that makes others nervous.

I like the three levels that Meg Blackburn Losey discusses.

There is a time of INITIATION when we come into an awareness that we are different, that we have powers we’re not sure of, and we have discernments that go beyond mental reasoning. Now what? Most people back off. A few press in, but keep a lid on it.

There is the time of COMMUNION where we decide it’s okay to be who we are. In fact, we must come to into agreement that we were created like we are for a purpose. Embrace the Creator’s plans. And then go searching for others who share the same space and feelings that you do.

Finally, there is the time of ASCENSION wherein we live more with the ONE who created us that we do with those in this third dimensional world. We didn’t get here yesterday. We’ve been before we were- are. Even beore the foundation of the world, we were. Such great SECRETS!

Chew on that. Better yet meditate on an in your seventh sense. It’s the real you!

Unique People

One of my greatest limitations was my parents- unknowingly. But now that I know that I am one of my children’s greatest limitations, what do I do? Change of course! Unfortunately anyone who comes off as different is misunderstood at best and shunned at worst. Maybe even ostracized or killed. Why are we so afraid of that which we don’t understand or that which is different? Continue reading ‘Unique People’

The Creator

There can only be one! There IS only ONE!

So, why do so many cultures and societies think that they have a copyright on the Creator? Does religion have to come in an “arrogance wrapper” that says WE know it all and all you OTHERS have it all wrong. Where’d we get the WE and who are the OTHERS anyway? While I believe that God is most DEFINED in Jesus, the Christ, I do not believe that God is CONFINED to Jesus. Continue reading ‘The Creator’

Voluntary Simplicity

As life gets more and more complex is there anyway we can slow down the potential psychological train wreck that we’re all sensing and seeing? Are we capable of simplifying our life: a voluntary simplicity if you will? With so much material stimulation, how is it possible to back off of the incessant need to keep up with the Joneses, Smiths, and whoever else we wish to compare ourselves? Comparison is suicide! Continue reading ‘Voluntary Simplicity’
