Jesus simply said, “FOLLOW ME. I am the WAY.” The church and religiosity has made John 14:6 into a formula, rules and more LAWS, to the point that HOW Jesus lived (the WAY He lived) is no longer significant, and thereby we’ve missed ushering in the Kingdom of God.

He has heard many things from God or so his books tell us. His “Converstations With God” are interesting to say the least- if not highly inspiring. Of all the things he’s recorded as having heard from God, the five-word phrase “You’ve Got Me All Wrong” stands out the most striking to me. Maybe it’s because I think we do, or at least much of the institutional church in America does. Continue reading ‘Neale Donald Walsh’
Intimidation still works in some cases and circles, but those circles and getting smaller and smaller. Threats of hell and eternal damnation are still applied to the rebellious, vulnerable, and religious because they still have a degree of effectiveness. People still respond to the promise of heaven if they will give donations to the church, and of course it is the church that mediates such matters. So some believe. Continue reading ‘Heaven and Hell’
A new national survey has just been released and it verifies a lot of what George Barna has been telling us for a decade or more. Religion isn’t being swallowed hook, line, and sinker any more. People no longer are buying religious dogma that makes no sense, defies scientific truths, and common sense. People are leaving religion and church for spirituality and community. Continue reading ‘Redefining Christianity’
Battle lines between the major and minor religions around the world are heating up because we are seeing more people, more denominations (30,000 Christain denominations alone), and less space than ever before. As the earth gets smaller and more crowded, religious people will be forced to become SEEKERS and not POSSESSORS of the TRUTH or else we will kill ourselves off sooner than we know. Continue reading ‘Seeker Or Possessor?’
God’s grace does not end at the grave! I have bought into the thinking that “God is love” and so therefore, eternal torment for no purpose is perversion to me- at least a long way from love as I see and undersand love. And if the highly rigid (my perception) Amish can allow for free will and testing of one’s faith, anyone can. Continue reading ‘Amish Rumspringa’
From the Vatican, to mega churches in America, to major ministries: hundreds of millions of dollars are being acquired by the institutional church. Is there a need to seek for anything more, like the mundane voice of God or His desires for us?
To the best of my “self-deceived” psyche, I have abandoned the lifestyle of fear based religion. I’ve found that while more and more are finding the joy and peace of such, there are few who have the courage or proclivity to go against the crowd of status quo maintainers. The church which is to represent God (who is love) manifest something quite the contrary when some major doctrine is even questioned, let alone challenged. Continue reading ‘Fear Based Religion’
Homeostasis is the property of either an open system or a closed system, especially a living organism, that regulates its internal environment so as to maintain a stable, constant condition. Religious homeostasis is a system as well and what is indicative of a sysem (all systems) is that the internal elements of that system are tied one to the other. They are not independent. Change one part of the system and like tipping a domino, stuff happens! Continue reading ‘Religious Homeostasis’

A New Commandment
Those who follow Jesus are said to be Christians- they are New Testament people and yet it’s hard to talk with a new covenant Christian without references as to who we’re to NOT eat, what we’re to NOT drink, which rules we’re to follow and what God will do (have you read the last 50 verses of Deuteronomy 28?) if we don’t toe the line and be good persons. It’s not a pretty picture my friends! Turn or burn! Really! Continue reading ‘A New Commandment’
