The term dualism was originally coined to denote co-eternal binary opposition, a meaning that is preserved in metaphysical and philosophical discourse but has been diluted in general usage. Buit I want to more specifically deal with Christian dualism. Most Christians are bound up in who’s going to heaven and who’s going to hell than who’s living for Jesus NOW! We’ve placed too much emphasis on the physical, our buildings, churches, and temples. A new million dollar church is built in America while people beg for food blocks away. Billions of dollars have been spent building elaborate temples. I visited a Bahi’a community enter last week and the main focus in the entry was there massive, elaborate, and expensive temple pictures in the foyer. Why? Continue reading ‘Sacred Temples’
The message that Jesus brought to this world is that God is LOVE, forgiveness, mercy, and a justice unlike anything we’ve ever been able to comprehend. God and man’s justice are day and night- total opposites. The greatest proof of which is the cross. There is nothing that shames our lifestyle as much as does the cross and yet at the same time gives us promises beyond imagination. Living graciously is Kingdom living. Continue reading ‘Living Graciously’
I have been asked that question a lot, more recently than when I was a teenager. Go figure! The question are you saved can have a question back. Saved from what? Saved from whom? But, where I want to go with that question is to what I think the motivation and heart of the question really is. Are you saved is really asking the question, how do you interpret the Bible? Continue reading ‘Are You Saved?’
In most charismatic churches on a given Sunday morning you will hear mighty warring praise songs. Christians will be storming the gates of hell and binding the strogman. The phrase “Our God is a mighty God” is bellowed loudly and clearly. God is an awesome God. But of course that is Sunday morning. Monday is of course, a different matter. Continue reading ‘Fearful And Intolerant’
My view of Christianity is that it’s made up of 90% who live with a “conditional love” and 10% who embrace an “unconditional love”. This has occurred in part due to a misconception of God’s justice vs. man’s justice. This two-part message will hopefully draw a distinction between the two.
I hear the question asked a lot. Are you SAVED? Saved from what should be the real question but unfortunately one can’t answer that question because the answer is “from an eternal hell”. But if God is LOVE, why should I worry about an eternal hell? Correction, punishment, and restoration? Sure! It’s been a long time since I traveled the “Roman road” (4 steps to salvation) or studied the plan of salvation. Continue reading ‘Plan of Salvation’
Most major religions, at least the big three, embrace just ONE CREATOR of the Universe. But We get a murky picture when ask the NAME of that Creator and when we ask about His-Her (even gender) characteristics. The Creator has a different name depending upon the religion. Is the name Yahweh, God, or Allah? Is this Being benevolent, malevolent, or a combination of both? Continue reading ‘One Creator!’
America has so many great qualities; however, there are some paradigms that are not so good. The whole concept of retirement seems to me to be birthed in self absorption. That one should slow down is feasible only if the physical body demands it. Otherwise, changing from “accumulating” to “giving” should be the goal in the back half of life. Continue reading ‘Self Absorption’

Sacred Cows
We all have “selective perception“. And we have these sacred cows we must protect. We SEE what it is we want to see. And anyone who thinks to get in our way or change how we SEE things best be advised that it won’t be a pretty experience. Now that’s how it is in general; however, when you aply the principle to RELIGION, then stuff really gets dicey. And one can get cut up real bad! Continue reading ‘Sacred Cows’
