Once upon a time in a denomination that served me well in my early religious journey, I embraced the written word as the infallible, inerrant, and inspired exact words of God. Later, I learned that what I’d actually done was make the King James translation an idol and had fallen into a word I’d never heard of course- Bibliolatry. Now, I see the sixty six books of the library called the Bible the SACRED words of my Christian community. Continue reading ‘Sacredness Vs. Bibliolatry’

Is that ever a critical question to our life or what? Who told you that you were poor, that you were unworthy, or that you were wrong? Who has told you ALL those things that you take for fact, for granted, and have formed your life around? Wasn’t one of the first questions God asked, “Who told you that you were naked”? Who indeed? Continue reading ‘Who Told You?’
I think few would disagree that God, the one who create ALL this is (which includes you and me) has a nature or set characteristics. Exactly what those characteristics are vary all over the place. But, here’s where I want to go. To KNOW GOD is to know ourselves and who we are. Since we, the created creatures, came from the Creator, we are of him and thus like him. Continue reading ‘Knowing God’
It’s sad and shocking the number of people who put together the two names Jesus & Christ as though they were the first and last name or the same and indistinguishable. Jesus was an historical person while Christ is a title, and a nature. For me, the best definition of Christos (better yet than Zodhiates Greek definition) is “the visible expression of the invisible Creator”. I am Ernie, the Christos. You are John Doe, the Christos and Mary Doe, the Christos. Continue reading ‘We Are “The Christ”’
What religion has done to Christmas cannot compare as to what secular humanism has done to the occasion. Both have so USED the Christmas season and holiday that there are few facts or spiritual significance to either. Christmas is now a time off work, to go into debt, to eat extravagantly, and to celebrate worship before so many false idols that the list is endless and growing. Let’s move on though with the Merry Christmas greeting. Continue reading ‘Merry Christmas!’
The divorce rate and the child abuse rate is essentially the same between those who call themselves born again Christians and those who espouse no religious affiliation. What can one say about those statistics? Worst of all espousal abuse (men to women) is greater among Christians than non Christians. So, what’s up with what appears to be the opposite of what should be happening? Continue reading ‘Trading Addictions’
I agree with someone who said something like heaven is protected by the gates of hell. The jist of that seeming oxymoron is that just before we ALL enter heaven we have to take our shoes off at the door. We have to shake off the dirt of the world. We have to do a last minute clean up before entering into that glorious state most often called heaven. So, think it not strange that I also believe that MERCY is in fact God’s JUDGMENT! Continue reading ‘God’s Justice Is Mercy!’
It’s a time, a season to celebrate. Into the world a child was born. Was it a virgin birth or a natural one. Where was this individual between the ages of 12 and 30? Was he the Isha of India and Tibet? Was this child that grew into a man crucified and resurrected at age 33 or was it 55? None of those questions altar the most visible manifestation of God known to man. Continue reading ‘Joy To The World’
God is with us means what to you? That God intervenes when you pray, knows about you, or that God is WITHIN you an manifests himself as you? Lie changes when we bring the incarnation from a 2000 year old event to a NOW happening.

Looking For Some New Wine?
Is everything working just peachy-keen for you? For many the Christmas season is a difficult one indeed; however, for some, life is anything but a bowl of cherries (enough of the fruit metaphors). The bottom line is that if your old way of thinking-believing isn’t working (only you can decide that), then you need to try something new, but remember this. You can’t put NEW WINE in that OLD WINESKIN. Continue reading ‘Looking For Some New Wine?’
