Divine Light DNA

If there was ever an area where science and spirit are coming together, it is in the un-packaging of DNA. What’s been seen as a double helix just might be a triple helix- a trinty.

Stuck In The Mud!

The Egyptian slaves were told to make brick without straw. Today many are told to make sense of the totally illogical and downright insane literal translations of the Bible rather than to see the life-giving metaphorical story telling culture from which they arose. We no longer live in a “Leave It To Beaver” world and neither do we live in a geocentric paradigm. Continue reading ‘Stuck In The Mud!’

God Is Dead

When German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche declared that God was dead more than one hundred years ago, most regarded Nietzsche as an atheist. However that statement reflects a more subtle understanding of divinity. In Nietzsche’s view, recent developments in modern science and the increasing secularization of European society had effectively ‘killed’ the Christian God. To that I’d add that we’re in the process of killing the religious God and it’s about time! Continue reading ‘God Is Dead’

Hermaphrodite & Androgynous?

So, is God gay? How far do we want to take the anthropomorphic paradigm anyway? The first chapter of Genesis says that we were created in the image of God. So what’s that mean? Is God a MAN as Mormons contend believing God is just an exalted man, who has “a body of flesh and bones”. When you logically examine some mainline Christians beliefs that’s the conclusion. Continue reading ‘Hermaphrodite & Androgynous?’

The Mystical & Mysterious Creator!

The One to whom we say created the heavens and the earth and is infinite in Being, we too often seem to have all the answers for and descriptions well defined. How silly. How foolish of anyone to think God is in any one book, one man. While I embrace the fact that for me God is most DEFINED in Jesus, I do not see God as CONFINED to Jesus. And for one who calls himself a Christian that is anathema to many. Continue reading ‘The Mystical & Mysterious Creator!’

Children Of Light

If we could slow down long enough to realize who and what we are, our world would be greatly transformed and thus all of those in our garden as well. When will we listen to what it means to be children of light?

Sentient Christians?

If there was ever a need for a more spiritual approach to life it is now. and it is happening. George Barna, religion pollster extraordinaire, has been seeing the shift from religion to spirituality for more than a decade now. The Jesus Seminar society has been challenging us to think about things that Jesus is reported to have said, (but did he?), while people like Bart Ehrman shock us out of our religious sleep. Interpreting Sacred Literature (Scripture)

Whether one is reading the Upanishads, Bible, Bhagavadgita, Koran, or other sacred books, HOW one interprets them determines LIFE: your life. Let me reflect on the sacred book that I am most familiar with realizing that the principles are the same regardless of religious culture. Continue reading ‘Interpreting Sacred Literature (Scripture)’

Religious Human Consciousness

Robert Russell wrote in 1956 the following, “Human consciousness, unaided by a Christ consciousness, does not see things as they are but as they appear, and appearances are deceiving.” How many times do we have to say it, hear it, read it, before it becomes an experiential reality? Religious and human consciousness is child-thought: a place to begin , but no place to end. Continue reading ‘Religious Human Consciousness’

Biblical Reorientation

Until the Western church learns to read sacred Scripture as it was meant to be understood, the traditional church will continue to lose members and attendance. The GOOD NEWS though is that whatever “religious loses” there may be, George Barna confirms that there is a greater offset in “spiritual gains”. People want SPIRIT-not LAW. People want LOVE- not LECTURES. Continue reading ‘Biblical Reorientation’
