Perfected Beings & A Non Religious God?

Perfection is an absolute that many say is impossible; however, depending upon “definitions”, it might be attainable. Matthew 5:48 says that we are to be perfect as the Creator is. The Greek word gives us a bit of a chance here as we can translate “teleios” as to be ALL that we were created to be: live up to our BEING-ness. That’s easier? :-) Continue reading ‘Perfected Beings & A Non Religious God?’

A Lethal Cocktail?

As with Anna Nicole Smith, the speculation is that Michael Jackson died of a lethal cocktail a muscle relaxant Soma, a sedative called Xanax and anti-depressant Zoloft, an anxiety drug Paxil, the painkiller Dilaudid, and another powerful painkiller named Demerol. Who thinks up these things? And, did they combine to kill Michael Jackson? I have a more serious question though. Continue reading ‘A Lethal Cocktail?’

Love Trumps Justice

Where did Jesus say that in case love were to fail that God’s back up plan was an eternal hell? Why is it that we so love to preach justice, hell-fire and damnation- until it comes to our own lives?

The Original Wound

I guess Christianity got off on the wrong foot because Jesus was a Jew, and therefore everything in Hebraic antiquity had to be carried forth. I am talking about the concept of original sin. With that paradigm as a starting point, and with Judaism as the only major religion where people were kicked OUT of the garden, separation has been a thread throughout all Christian doctrine. Continue reading ‘The Original Wound’

Larva & Pupa Progress?

We are all a chip off the block of the Creator, a beam of that light, and a wave of that ocean, and yet when it comes to formulating words that describe the infinite creator, we struggle mightily. The very best that we can do is to employ metaphors, and some are pretty good. So, let’s look at the caterpillar- butterfly metaphor as it relates to our human and spiritual journey. Continue reading ‘Larva & Pupa Progress?’

The Mental Trap

Why do Christians believe as they do? I could say the same thing for Muslims, Jews, and Buddhists, but let me stick with what I know most. After a couple thousand years of building belief systems, hundreds of layers of theological constructs, and sectarian battle at every doctrine, who knows WHY we believe WHAT we do? Continue reading ‘The Mental Trap’

New Ways Of Seeing!

So many people are finding that RELIGION, and therefore GOD, isn’t working out for them. So, they move from church A to church B. Inevitably differences arise and thus it is on to church C. Worse yet, people drop out of church all together. However, there’s one common denominator in all these circumstances. Where ever you go, you’re still YOU. It’’s YOU that’s the problem! Continue reading ‘New Ways Of Seeing!’

Take No Thought!

Matthew 6:25 says, “Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?” (KJV). At the same time that I grew up with Old King James, I also followed Napoleon Hill who said, “Whatever the mind can conceive, and believe, it can achieve.” So, is this an “And-Also”, or what? Continue reading ‘Take No Thought!’

Ascended Beings Before Ascension?

The Christian doctrine of the Ascension holds that Jesus ascended to heaven in the presence of his Eleven Apostles following his resurrection, and that in heaven he sits at the right hand of God the Father. And where is this place called heaven? More difficult yet is this question. Can one be an ascended before ascension? Say what? Continue reading ‘Ascended Beings Before Ascension?’

Do You Believe In Me?

Jesse Fernandez shares a word from John 14:1, wherein Jesus tells the disciples, “You believe in God, well believe in me also”. Who is this elusive “Me” in whom we must believe? Are we ready to relinquish our fears of exploring the incredible depth of our Oneness with God?
