When one looks at the church demographics and answeredin America, it has to become obvious that much of the motivation for salvation and church attendance has little to do with the LIFE that Jesus told us we could enjoy if we’d but enter IN, by awakening to the ONENESS that already exists.

For too long, much of the church and most religions have focused on the EXTERNALS. From the view point of Jesus, who became the Christ, it was all about INTERIORITY and not the EXTERNALS. More specifically Jesus is credited as having said you can’t find the Kingdom (of God) by looking over there or around here because the Kingdom is WITHIN! “O Lord, love me mightily and love me often and long; the more often you love me the purer I become; the more mightily you love me the more beautiful I become: the longer you love me the holier I become here on earth.” Mechthild von Magdeburg (medieval mystic 1285-1291). Every now and then I get a glimpse of where I AM by seeing where I HAVE BEEN. Have you been there and done that? Sitting, well actually laying on one of my six swings (yes, six) I heard the phrase, “The Tie That Binds“. What is that I asked myself and then I remembered the hymn that carried the two words in front, “Blessed Be“. Continue reading ‘The Tie That Binds’
Because the FINITE cannot define the INFINITE, we do the best we can by the use of; however, even they leave us wanting. But, what are we humans to do otherwise? So, let me employ one that doesn’t get that much play and maybe therein we’ll SEE something afresh. Maybe! Continue reading ‘One River Metaphor’
In Christian theology, I Corinthians 12 makes clear that while there are many parts, there is but one body. For centuries, Catholicism was that ONE BODY (as the term ‘catholic” implies). Taoism and various Chinese religious cultures embrace the ONE that Yang-Yin represent. Until we come to LIVE the “And-Also”, non duality life, we’ll not embrace the fullness of who we are. Continue reading ‘ONE With Many Parts’
None of us are “wound free“; however, some carry many more marks on their souls than others. None can escape the rains that fall on life (Matthew 5:45) or the dark clouds that blow in and out of life. How we deal with those stormy times though is too often predicated on our macro view of God. Having a benevolent view of God, works decidedly in our favor. One of the more recent popular colloquialisms is- Go Figure. In other words, don’t try to come up with a reason for why something happened or why someone did what they did! Along with the spoken “go figure” can often times come the scratching of one’s head or raising both hands in doubt and wonder. Just when I think I know what’s going on and I get fooled- go figure! Continue reading ‘Go Figure!’
History reveals that Constantine and the various Popes, and early church Fathers, did away with Gnosticism and mysticism; however, can one really enter the Kingdom without an abiding Christ consciousness and a living cosmology?

Murdering The Mystic
There’s no BIG TENT invitation for the Christian Western Church. All are invited who want to sign a disclaimer at the tent door that says you will follow n other doctrine other than that which is confessed within. And the divinity schools within America have by and large been able to maintain the status quo. Continue reading ‘Murdering The Mystic’
