A Micro Manager God?

I grew up on a subconscious mindset that took decades to not just SEE, but to be delivered from as well. I am currently at a place where I see God as a partner for myself and all other beings. We’re co-creators, joint heirs with Jesus as the book of Romans tells us. But once upon a time I saw God more as a micro manager. Continue reading ‘A Micro Manager God?’

The Question : To Love or Not To Love?

Someone sent me a statement that rings so true that it was the reason for this commentary today. The statement was, “The only hindrance to unconditional love is conditional love”. I have been saying for years now that Christians SPEAK of an “unconditional Love” but PRACTICE conditional love. Hey, why else would there be a need for HELL? Continue reading ‘The Question : To Love or Not To Love?’

Paul Or Jesus?

The GOOD NEWS is that I don’t have to make a decision between Paul or Jesus. This is not an either-or paradigm, but and And-also one. However, we need to be reminded from time to time that Paul is the one who started the Christian religion. Jesus didn’t come to start a new religion, nor to reform his Jewish one (though it seems that he tried). Continue reading ‘Paul Or Jesus?’

Mystical Light Of Truth

Mysticism is not taught in but a handful of seminaries because Christianity is more about doctrine than real-life experiences in such conservative institutions. Seminary professors have a lot of FACTS about Jesus and the Christian religion, but few real-life EXPERIENCES- if any!

Love Is A Choice!

How many times have you said something like, if I were God, I would have done it differently. How easy it is to engage in a little Monday morning quarter backing. Generally though the question seems to always surface as to why God would allow such SUFFERING in the world when he had and has all the POWER to end all pain and suffering. Or, does he? Continue reading ‘Love Is A Choice!’

Thomas : Twin Of Jesus?

For those that embrace the virgin birth (literally), and I am speaking primarily of Catholics now, Jesus was the only child that she gave birth. For those Protestants who believe in a virgin birth, there’s really no problem in that Mary had other children (brothers and sisters of Jesus). But, what’s up those that beleive Jesus had a twin brother? How heretical is that? Continue reading ‘Thomas : Twin Of Jesus?’

The Panentheistic Plunge

Rigid Christian monotheism is running out of gas in America, but it’s had a long run. I’m not predicting the demise, just the trend. The theistic God that’s “out there”, at the top of the food chain, the tip-top of the triangle, and the ‘wholly other’ simply no longer works and is very difficult to intellectually support from many different angles. Continue reading ‘The Panentheistic Plunge’

The Suppression Of Truth

In my first year of graduate school at Kansas University, still a kid with an unrealistic view of lfie, one of my books of study, in political science, was entitled, The Power Elite by sociologist C. Wright Mills. It was the second shoe to fall in my life- about life. The first had to do with law school. Continue reading ‘The Suppression Of Truth’

True Living Faith

Isn’t it amazing how many people say that they “believe in God” and yet when the chips or down, when the ship doesn’t come in, or when there’s more rainy days than they think reasonable, the faith fades like smoke from a fire on a wind-swept hill. Admittedly, it takes a few decades (for most) to live enough life to develop such a faith wherein death of a loved one as an example does not shake faith. Continue reading ‘True Living Faith’
