It will be my theme in glory. And just what IS that story? In many churches around the planet when the Sunday liturgy is read, the reader says, “The Word of the Lord” and the congregants reply, “Thanks be to God.” The subliminal and often times not so disguised message is that the words that were just spoken came right from the lips of God (as though he had lips, or was a male for that matter). Millions of people went to church yesterday (a Sunday) and repeated CREEDS, followed CUSTOMS, and observed DOCTRINES that are dead: worthless in the real world. This is not saying that ALL creeds, customs, or doctrines are wrong, but those that were formulated 2,000 years ago with a mindset, world paradigm, and out-dated factual understanding just aren’t applicable, practical, or beneficial today. Why is it that most religions live in a black and white, either or, monochromatic world when there are so many options and possibilities? Most of all, we need to be KNOWING more of the future than we do.
Sure, you’ve heard it said before. It’s what all CHRISTIANS espouse. If there is to be COMMUNITY there have to be some BUILDING BLOCKS that are mutually agreed upon; however, within the commonalities are many and diversified personalities. The Spirit of God is most often described (in various religions) as that which is always on the move. The animating spirit that God is has been described as the WIND or a STREAM and yet the church has settled for being a man-made lake: a body (of water) that is neither moving nor being FED by and streams.
