Regional Religious Resolutions

No one owns God- God owns, and IS ALL!

Islam cannot speak for the world and neither can Christianity, Catholicism, or any other religion, God isn’t “conformable” to the whims, doctrines, nor theologies of man. Every religion has their take and ideas on God and the universe and as I have said over and over again, RELIGIONS-R-REGIONAL. Case in point- I am a Christian because I was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas (an Occidental man).

Had I been born in Tibet as an Oriental man, I most probably would be Buddhist, Hindu, or Taoist.

Over the centuries humanhood has attempted to define the un-definable through polytheistic, monotheistic, and varied legends and myths.  Each has built a case and lived an experience that is REGIONAL. News flash : God is universal. What’s crazy is that almost every regional religion has wound up blatantly becoming the exact opposite of their very core teachings.

Let’s use Christianity as an example.

We’re told that Jesus was the second person of the trinity, the very God of very God, of the same essence and nature as Creator God. Therein Christianity taught that God was love, that we are love and light, and that we’re to forgive 70 x 7 (can you say infinite forgiveness?). And yet when you look at Christian history you see the exact opposite.

Christians have NOT LOVED (their friends, let alone their enemies), but KILLED.

All that the Bible purports to teach us, all that Jesus said God was, and all that Jesus demonstrated in his short life here on earth, Christianity HAS NOT been, nor IS NOW! Christianity has not failed:  it’s simply that we’ve failed to PRACTICE Christianity. The same can be said for Islam. Worst of all is Catholicism whose 1,800 year history as anathema to their words spoken, their doctrines expounded.

Beyond regional religions is God’s universal unconditional love. Why don’t we give it a try?

Only The Spirit Knows

I Corinthians 13:12 (NLT) reads, “Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. The KJV says, “For now we see through a glass, darkly.”

Can I get an Amen- maybe a witness?

Only the spirit knows rightly, perfectly. And yet there are so many, especially the large religious  denominations that  claim they KNOW. I have seemingly gone the other way. The more I study, the more I learn, the more I know, the LESS I am sure of with one exception. I know God is love. There are two other conclusions that I’ve come to that might fit the one exception:

>The Bible isn’t a problem, it’s how people interpret the many books in that’s a problem.

>Jesus delivered a revolutionary message with great clarity but religions misinterpreted him and the message for various reasons: some probably unconsciously- maybe even sincerely!

Socrates dictum applies here as David Hawkins puts it, “Socrates said that all human error or wrongdoing is involuntary for man can only choose what he believes at the time to be a good that will bring happiness. His only error is that he cannot discern the real good from the illusionary good.” For you see, only the Spirit, the inner voice, the pilot light of the Creator, KNOWS!

Teacher & Healer!

If we’re going to be FOLLOWING Jesus (can you say Christians?) then much has to change.

When one looks at the various MIRACLES that Jesus performed they we accompanied by a teaching. Unfortunately, most ancient historical sources were more interested in proving the divinity of Jesus, making him the second person of the trinity, that they missed the teachings!

Jesus was trying to sell us on the Kingdom!

Jesus was a radical subversive TEACHER. The healings were just platforms from which to hail his message. Maybe that’s why we’re missed or messed up the message. Too many have focused on the miraculous, put the cart before the horse, and that simply does not work. See ye FIRST the Kingdom of God……………and THEN! Then all the other things will be added to you (Matthew 6:31,33).

So, in this world wherein we have access to teachers and healers, the message is to run to the teacher (the right one of course) because the healer can often times be the snake-oil salesman that’s only lining his or her pockets, building their kingdom (can you say TV ministry?), and leaving you disappointed. Jesus never did that!

Who’s The Audience?

I am one blessed individual. I live in a community of people who are becoming so FREE (as in unconditionally loving) that they have FREED ME!

So much of our life is lived within CONTAINERS: otherwise known as boxes of judgments wherein we build and entrap people.  Living FREE doesn’t come easily. In fact, being FREE is about as dangerous an endeavor as one can embrace. The process is one of SUBTRACTION. Of course the world and mainstream religion is in to MULTIPLICATION. God SUBTRACTED from his PURE nature and essence to create us.

We are LESS than the Creator. There are many who think we ARE the Creator. How’s that working out for you? Create me a galaxy when you’re not to busy envisioning things for yourself.

So, who’s YOUR AUDIENCE? What kind of a world have you built? Are you following Jesus? Jesus is all over the place depending upon his AUDIENCE. Remember him putting down mom, Mother Mary, when He sarcastically ask, ‘Who is my Mother”, and then in another setting he states, “Woman behold your Son”. As I have mentioned before somewhere, sometime,  a study of the “sayings of Jesus” clearly indicate that he spoke differently to varied AUDIENCES .

Having said that, the core of Jesus never changed. He was kingdom through and through.

Do you know your AUDIENCE(s)? Is there one that allows you to forget audience content and gives you the FREEDOM speak without thinking? I have many who say I do that- speak freely WITHOUT THINKING! And they still love me. When you find THAT AUDIENCE, you’re not far from HEAVEN!

What Was Jesus Thinking?

I am not trying to come up with a new bracelet. The WWJD or WWJS bracelets have made their point. There’s no need to add a WWJT bracelet.

Hey, it’s the day after Thanksgiving and many of us are still miserable: can’t believe we ate the whole thing! Guilt is still speaking to us about how low our discipline is. So, maybe we could slowly drift out of the  “I was a bad person” mentality and ask ourselves just WHAT WAS JESUS THINKING?

I know this is a rather difficult if not impossible exercise for those who see Jesus as the second person of the trinity.

Did Jesus THINK he was the Jewish Messiah and if so which one, the secular leader or the priestly one? Did Jesus recognize how different his relationship with the Creator was or did he think this was what everyone should be doing and feeling? Why did he speak in such apocalyptic terms and why did he think the END (whatever he thought that was going to be) was COMING SOON?

Have you ever wondered what JESUS THOUGHT?

Phyllis Trickle writes, “Perhaps Jesus misunderstood the end times. Perhaps Jesus did understand and meant what he said, but metaphorically, not literally. Perhaps Jesus really was striving to be a political force in his world and was urging the people to rebel against Rome.” Perhaps many things, but to each his own idea. For me it wasn’t and isn’t so much what Jesus THOUGHT (important as that is), but what he FELT and what he DID!

Jesus LOVED unconditionally and he said, FOLLOW ME!

Thanksgiving!

Sometimes it is easier to be THANKFUL when circumstances are more difficult than it is when one is in great health, embracing great wealth, and living on a mountain top of good emotions.

As an individual who SEES into the future, I’m something like (I am not ONE) a prophet who is not smiling when things are going well because he-she sees what coming, and they are smiling when things are bad because they see what’s coming. Here’s where living in the NOW becomes a bit tricky.

But, regardless of the present or the future I AM…….

and I AM THANKFUL!

>For a fabulous wife who IS my LIFE more so every day

>For children who are giving me more and more pleasure each year

>For a family of friends that grows deeper and richer each year

>For a community of people who challenge me, while letting me roam free

>For opportunities to grow and experience life in abnormal ways, which are normal for the spirit.

May each and everyone find a moment this holiday weekend to count your blessings and SEE, maybe for the first time in a long time, how THANKFUL you truly should BE, for what you don’t SEE, and for what you do!

Restoration Time

Yes, I’m looking basically at a four day HOLIDAY!  :-)

It’s going to be a great four days of sleeping in and getting some physical restoration, especially over the Friday to Sunday weekend when the COLD front comes through and SLEEPING In sounds awesome. Being the Thanksgiving weekend, it’s a time to RESTORE good and great relationships as well as looking at what relationships need a bit of tweaking or restoring.

So, let us look at the GRAND GOD principle of RESTORATION as well.

That God is a God of restoration should be well documented for anyone who has picked up a Bible. The first two chapters deal with the FALL of man and the rest of the Bible is basically about RESTORATION. We need to begin by realizing where we’ve come from, where we are, and where we are going. Once upon a time we were whole and then we were SENT (I don’t embrace the WE CHOSE paradigm) to earth.

Part of our journey here is to GET BACK, to be RESTORED to realizing who we really ARE!

There are so many areas of life wherein this principle applies. The medical world is more into REPLACING than it is to RESTORING. Cut out this, cut out that, instead of sending ENERGY in to RESTORE what has been damaged. We need to be RESTORING immune systems instead of cutting out what failed immune systems have damaged.

Professor Candace Pert wrote, “As a scientist, I believe we’re going to understand everything one day, but this understanding will require bringing in a realm we don’t understand at all yet. We’re going to have to bring in the extra-energy realm.” So, what’s that mean? It certainly doesn’t mean cutting OUT, but bringing IN.

May we use this holiday weekend to RESTORE our minds and spirit, as much as is possible.

Rich Relationships

There are a lot of expensive things in life these days from which one can choose. We also have this number that keeps showing up- 11:11. If we put them together we get WHAT- especially when we combine them with the 4th Gospel that Lazarus wrote?

Spiritual & Bio-energy

News Flash! We are not God!

Follow up: We are far more divine and creative than we are living as we are CO- CREATORS with God. What’s that mean? When we get into trying to define and or verbally articulate the power(s) that we have, we’re at a loss for words or our words sound like some Zen saying whose meaning escapes us. Yesterday, I read an article about the  healing ministries in South America, which have been going on for decades.

The end of the article and the conclusion was as follows and I quote.

“Perhaps the real heart within us is about love and faith. Perhaps the physical body is not who we really are. Perhaps we are these invisible  souls walking around, and the body is just an instrument or metaphor for something we are trying to learn.”  Explain that to your neighbor.

Dr. Ursula Thunderberg, a child psychiatrist in New York, writes as follows.

“True healers are aware of an aspect of life that’s very natural and follows specific laws. Follow those laws and you get good results. There is a bioenergy that lies outside most people’s normal sensory and visual range, little has been said about it until now by doctors and scientists.” I would add that little has been practiced by the religious community, while the spiritual communities around the globe, and particularly in indigenous societies, have used such methods as a way of life.

Quoting Elmer Green, Ph.D. (at the Menningder Foundation), “What we have seen and measured in our laboratory (as healers)  is not possible. But it happens anyway!” We have much to learn but we will have to go outside our current doctrines, beyond our ingrained dogma, and into the vast expanse of the heart and spirit.

A-Ten Commandments?

Why are there two creation stories (Genesis 1 and 2)? Why are there two flood stories (Genesis 6-8)? I have addressed and given my answers before: however, I’ve not referred to the two TEN Commandment stories: so here goes!

The short answer is Judaism is ATENISM! Back to that “made in Egypt” scenario?

Akhenhaten ruled for 17 years and died in 1334 BC. He is especially noted for abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism and introducing worship centered on the ATEN, which is sometimes described as MONOTHEISTIC or henotheistic. An early inscription likens him to the sun as compared to stars. There is much about Judaism that’s found in ATENISM.

Say what? I know more disillusionment!

Atenism is one of the earliest known, well-documented, monotheistic religions, associated with the eighteenth dynasty Pharaoh Amenhotep IV, better known under his adopted name, Akhenhaten. In the 14th century BC it was Egypt’s state religion for around 20 years, before subsequent rulers returned to the traditional gods and the Pharaohs associated with Atenism were erased from Egyptian records.

As Tim Wallace-Murphy writes,  “As we all know, the main foundation of Judaic belief, the law of Moses, is founded firmly on the Ten Commandments. But did Moses receive the Commandments from God on Mount Sinai, or did they come from somewhere else?” Speculation is easy to state, but harder to prove.

We have the Ten Commandments found in Deut. 5 and also in Exodus 20.

The Exodus version displays distinct Egyptian origins. They mirror passages from the Egyptian Book Of The Dead (which is really about the living). The phrase found so often in Exodus (Hear, O Israel, the Lord thy God is one) is so similar to the Egyptian line, “Hear, O Egyptians, our God Aten is the only God”. And the point is.

The point is that we will have a more loving world when we quit letting our EGO think that what we have is an EXCLUSIVE place with God, that OUR religion is the only one, that WE are more special than all others, and that EVERYTHING ORIGINATES with us. Let’s just LOVE and BE LOVE and let pride of ownership depart from our life.
