Who Is Asking?

When YOU pray, WHO is doing the praying?

Have you ever approached that question before?

Too often it is the small self that prays, too often it is the ME, that I think that I am that is praying. Richard Rohr puts it this way, “True prayer is always about getting the ‘WHO’ right. You or the God in you: little you or the Christ Consciousness?”

Christ Consciousness?

Unfortunately many are still at the entry level of Christian-dom. Literally, hundreds of millions of Christians think that Christ is the last name of Jesus. Fortunately, more and more people are coming to the realization that Jesus developed the Christ Consciousness. He came to the understanding that it is the Christos in us that needs to be developed; otherwise known as the divine.

That spark of divinity is with EVERYONE.
Can you see it- in everyone?

Universal Operations

We live us as though we can do whatever we want to this planet that sustains us. We live as though everything evolves around us. If we’re lucky we come to the realization at some point in life that we need to cooperate with the universe.

Many call the earth GAIA.

Those that are wise come to the realization that we’re here to help, we’re here to cooperate and that the universe operates on COOPERATION and not COMPETITION. More than 400 peer-level studies have been conducted that show the earth operates on LOVE. In order for us to fully comprehend that which is not normal to the ego we have to go through the difficult process of emptying our MIND and filling our HEART!

The universe responds to love and gratitude.

If your world isn’t going as you thought, maybe it’s your thinking that needs to be adjusted. The universe, galaxy, and planet were here before we were and they will be here after we are. So, what can we do to make a deposit of LOVE while we are here?

Isn’t that the CORE question of life?

The Broken Chain

In many ways we don’t know where we are because we don’t know where we have been.

Both in science and religion, so much has been LOST and or DESTROYED on purpose. When we look at the pyramids of Egypt and see the precision drilling, microscopic cuts, and tons of blocks, one has to ask, “How did they do that”? How indeed? We can’t even replicate what was done 10-12,000 years ago, so what’s been lost in the metaphoric translation?

Religion was more purposeful in its LOST history.

When the Emperors decided how they wanted to manipulate religion to their advantage, they went on a witch hunt, destroying everything they could find that might be counter to the philosophy and story that they wanted to peddle and survive. Fortunately, over the last few hundred years, we’ve been able to discover some of those works that were removed from history. The Dead Sea Scrolls, Nag Hammadi, and other recent archaeological discoveries are helping us reconstruct the chain of truth.

One of the worst breaks in the chain of history was in Egypt.

There are many theories of how the Great Library in Alexandria was destroyed (was it one fire or several, was it the Romans or insurgents, etc.). Whoever set fire to the great works at Alexandria, denied us a rich history. Worse though are those who today would, and do, deny us of anything other than what they believe.

We do have a choice! We can be a people who seek to unite ourselves to the truth of history regardless of what we find, or we can push our own agendas thinking they ONLY WE have the TRUTH!

Chosen Blindness?

Since I am aware of my “selective hearing”, I am sure that I also exercise chosen blindness.

As we age, maybe mature would be a more acceptable description, we begin to notice things about ourselves and if we’re blessed, we’ll figure out who we are while we still can. I have a pretty sensitive “hearing filter”. I listen when I want to, I mute some conversations, and I censor certain topics, and even people. How good are my decisions? I know not.

Bill Wilson has said that chosen blindness is in fact just denial.

There’s a shadow part of us and I’m not talking about the Holy Spirit or Casper the ghost. Do not confuse the shadow self with our evil side either. There are simply some things that we do NOT want to SEE about who we are and how we act. To see such could wound our self image.

Several days ago I had a conversation with a person I am close to and I expended upon a statement that I’ve made over the years. That statement is that I am a WEAK person. In fact I have mentioned this publicly on several occasions. Just because others don’t see me as such doesn’t mean they are right.

The WEAKNESS I am talking about is GOOD!

One of the New Testament pearls of wisdom says that, “When I am WEAK He (God-Divine-Spirit-Jesus-etc.) is STRONG. One of the important landmarks of life is to come to a place where you KNOW……………WHO YOU ARE NOT! Once you have come to grips with who you aren’t (sorry ego), then you can come to grips with who you just might be.

The bottom line is that where I am blind is not something I have chosen at this point in life: the best I know.

What areas are you living in denial still?

An Apple On-Off Switch?

What happens when we die?

When you are young that’s never a question that one asks, let alone attempts to answer. The older you get, the more death you see, especially that of your parents, the more you begin to wonder. Of course there are many groups with answers….just FOR YOU!

>You go to heaven if you’re a good Christian.
>You go to heaven with lots of virgins if you’re a self-martyred Muslim
>You come back to life and try to get it right if you follow a number of Eastern religions.
>You go to a “holding area” (Purgatory) if you’re a devout Catholic
>You simply cease to exist if you’re an atheist

Of course I am simplifying the whole concept but regardless of what you believe it’s one of those events in life that none of us can escape. Steve Jobs had to finally step outside of his Buddhist traditions and face that reality last month. In the just released book, Steve Jobs, written by Walter Isaacson, we find Steve Jobs as having said the following.

“I’m about fifty-fifty on believing God. I like to think something survives after you die……maybe your consciousness endures. But then on the other hand, perhaps it’s like an on-off switch. CLICK. You are gone. Maybe that’s why I never liked to put on-off switches on Apple devices.”

Steve now knows what we only speculate.

But, one day we will know for sure as well.

Dropped Calls?

I’ve discovered a couple of things over the last few years:

>Working in a metal building makes for bad phone communications
>Using T-Mobile outside of a major metropolitan area is a disaster

And then there’s my current carrier- AT&T. I get way too many dropped calls; however, I bet you know by now that my direction isn’t with my iPhone or any phone but with our prayer life! By the way, I’ve DROPPED my previous modes of prayer as well.

A key question though is, “who’s your carrier“?

I’ve basically, and very slowly as well, moved from my EGOIC carrier to my SPIRIT carrier. The job or RELIGION, which comes from the root word, RE-LIGIO, means to RECONNECT. Ah, but to what? I’ll submit that it’s not to any particular church (building), denomination, or doctrinal belief system.

We need to RECONNECT to the spirit that dwells with us.

We are NOT SEPARATE from our Creator, from the Consciousness of ALL, from the initiating Spirit, from the animating force of the universe, and from that loving torsion field that scientists are now discovering. When you CALL on that which is WITHIN (sorts like “Intel within”) there are no dropped calls.

Psst. You do have to LISTEN and stop the blathering- ad nauseum! :-)

Love Built!

Sure, the mark of excellence (if you believe the advertising) is pick-up trucks is if they are- Ford Built!

But, when it comes to the universe and we humanoids, ALL is LOVE BUILT!

So why is it that we don’t live life that way? More than 400 peer-reviewed studies have conclusively come to the realization that, “violent competition and war directly contradict our deepest instincts of cooperation and nurturing”. As Gregg Braden writes in his latest book (Deep Truth), “Scientific studies show conclusively that nature is based on a model of cooperation and mutual aid, not violent competition and war.”

So, where’s the disconnect?

One of the most devastating conclusions, from my view, is that it’s the fault of RELIGIONS. History is littered with the religious wars, corrupt churches, pedophile priests, pandering Popes, and pompous pastors. Of course not all; however, where has church leadership been throughout history in preventing wars, and allowing for religious tolerance?

Tell me, where’s the church now in those areas?

Nature and the universe is love built, churches notwithstanding!

You Believe What?

I know you have listened to someone tell you something that they believe in and you stare in amazement.

Conspiracy theorists aside, there’s a lot of BELIEFS that simply have nothing to do with reality and we really don’t want to dig into the why and wherefore of many of our beliefs. Take WAR as example. Why do we believe that we need to KILL others in order to stop the killing? When in all of recorded history has that BELIEF system ever worked?

Tell me. When has that ever been a valid belief?

Everyone lives their life according to their BELIEFS! If our beliefs ere true that would be a good thing; however, many of our beliefs are OBSOLETE at best, and never valid to begin. When’s the last time that you seriously looked at some of your beliefs? Where did your beliefs originate: where’d you get them?

Most beliefs are geographically birthed!

A white American born in the Midwest, embracing a Baptist religious view, voting Republican, and subscribing to a form of government that’s democratic separating church and state is far different than an Arabic woman, living in an Islamic state and embracing a theocratic government. Their beliefs are night and day. Which one is right or can we make that distinction.

I happen to see a great correlation between what we believe and who we are so it just might be a good thing to make sure that what we’re believing is VALID!

Whatcha think?

Victims of Heredity?

Early on the Bible was a source for saying the sons inherited the sins of the father.

Later on that was changed; however, it doesn’t seem that the word has caught on. It’s a general rule that it takes 8-10 years for a truth to be accepted, but a few thousand years is stretching it, don’tcha think?

Bruce Lipton pioneered a new way of thinking and a concept called EPIGENETICS! So, what does that mean? Epigenetics is the study of heritable changes in gene expression caused by mechanisms other than changes in the underlying DNA sequence. In other words, epi (above and beyond) genetics (genes).

We can change the blueprint of our life.

It’s more than limiting toxins, the water we drink, and the electromagnetic noise from all around us. Our own subjective experience changes our genes. Our attitudes and how we look at life changes our DNA. This is big, revolutionary stuff. Textbooks still tell us that’s not possible, but we don’t have to wait until they catch up to reality.

We are NOT victims of heredity unless we choose to be!

Fly or Die!

We humans were meant to soar!

I’m using a metaphor of course, but who knows what we might be capable of if we started being the spiritual beings that we are? Surely what most will agree is that we’re living way below our potential. As long as we forsake out destiny, we’ll go the way of the DODO!

Surely you’ve heard the phrase “dead as a dodo bird“?

Way too many Christians have the ability to soar in the spiritual realm; however, they choose to keep their feet firmly planted on the ground, not venturing out to experience new things. In fact, for many fundamentalist Christians, leaving the reservation (literal Biblical interpretations) is fraught with problems.

Eagles nest in high cliffs and thousands of feet in the air.

The Dodo bird once thrived on Mauritius Island in such huge numbers that no one could count them. Soon after the arrival of “civilized man” with weapons, dogs, and other predators, the Dodo became extinct in short order. You see, this 40-50 pound bird that didn’t fly and nested on the ground was fodder for others.

We who were meant to fly spiritually will go the same course if we don’t start living up to our potential.
