How in the hell did we get to the place where men of God thought it was their place to wear the finest of vestments, sit in the high seats on elevated stages, and pontificate to the masses. Where did Jesus teach that? Tell me! Where did Jesus teach such arrogance and separation from the masses. He simply did not and in fact He taught just the opposite. When will we get it and quit supporting those who want the titles and positions of power- to control us?
Does anyone remember who Jesus had problems with day in and day out?
If Jesus was anything He was antiecclesiastical. He was constantly at war with the church leaders. And when they could not stop Him or shut Him up, they conspired to have Him killed. Is there anything so obvious and yet so missed in all the religious garb that we cloth denominations with today. I know, truth hurts, but truth will also set us free.
Need we be reminded of that verse in Matthew 23 wherein Jesus is quoted as saying something like this (my paraphrase- you can find it), “Don’t be like the Rabbis, priests, minister or pastors! For there is only ONE that is your master, and it ain’t them.” He then goes on to tell us to stay away from the Pharisees who are nothing but “hypocrites”.
Pharisees are alive and well today.
You know them by the jets they fly, the many mansions they have, the multi-million dollar investments they have acquired, the “chief seats” that they occupy, and the heavy burdens they put on everyone else (can you say guilt trip after guilt trip?). Rules and more rules. Continually covering up the gospel with so much garb and garbage that it’s difficult to find Jesus.
Nearly impossible, really!
So, why don’t we just strip down and get spiritually naked and gut honest. If we’re going to see the Kingdom of God come in any great measure on this earth, “our world” (meaning you and I and the religious organizations) is going to have to be radically transformed. We can do this. Give to those that have a vision for the community. Give to those who will give most of it away, not those who keep adding to the religious system.
Guess who isn’t going to start the un-robing?
Yep, the very ones who are benefiting by keeping the status quo going.
And I’m no longer one of them!

im all for naked…bring it on…lol
Right On, Chap! Let’s get naked!
Most ‘ministries’ I see are nothing more than corporations with a well-paid CEO who has all the corporate perks – Armani, CitationX, portfolios, speaking engagements, book contracts, etc. Anyone can be a success in the business world, but being a success in God’s Kingdom requires humility and giving – the exact opposite of the world system.
So how about shutting down our huge religious edifices with their exhorbitant offering-demanding mortgages? Maybe we could use these as community centers where people clould actually come 24/7 and be fed/clothed, have some fun, and enjoy some life, instead of just being used for a few hours on Sunday AM by guilt trip travel agents.
Is it any wonder the ‘world/lost’ drive right past our churches on their way to making a living and enjoying some R&R?
It’s what we’re doing more and more. Our $900,000 debt is only needed in that it serves the community (CultureShapers, HFAC, etc.), IS a community, and strives for a Kingdom culture.
As for all the other tens and hundreds of million dollar edifices, that’s God’s play not mine.
And did I mention we don’t meet for a hour on Sunday, but 5 hours Friday night?
Listen to this guy he is not into the suits, money etc. As a matter of fact I heard him say he would like to teach behind a curtain so noone would see him, but only hear the message………….His website is full of truth
