Say what!
I have said many times that I was held back by kind, but unknowing, teachers who filled me full of head knowledge about first one belief then another: concepts upon un-ending concepts. I became pretty self confident about what I KNEW. I now look upon that season as one of arrogance and ignorance. What I knew just so happened to be only partially true and here is why.
You can’t understand the Bible intellectually!
I know that comes as a shocker to many. That does not mean that you’re to shut down your brain either. It simply means that you subordinate, submit, or put your brain under the authority of your Spirit.
The Bible was written by the Spirit (through MEN of course), and therefore it must be understood by the Spirit. The Spirit will use your brain, whereas your brain (and ego) in no way wants to submit to anything.
The intellect cannot give you the truth about God! 
That would be like asking a person what color smell is!
We have to connect spirit to Spirit. We have to spend whatever amount of time it takes to develop our spirit man, and nuture our communon with the Almighty God, Spirit, Abba Father, an Consciousness.
Bummer, eh? No short cuts in this journey!
