# 25- Anthropomorphic Arrogance

With all good intentions we’ve taken the “Abba Father” that Jesus told us about and we’ve put Him on a Wheaties cereal box. I can only tell you this because I am only now being able to SEE God as more than Abba Father. We all know that He is Spirit, Consciousness, Allness; however, we’ve let our ego take the symbolism of Daddy God to a dangerous degree.

Anthropomorphism is the attribution of uniquely human characteristics and qualities to nonhuman beings (can you say God?). God does not SIT on anything. That’s a metaphor. Go doesn’t have legs, arms, or flowing white hair.

After enough of those descriptions, and God is no more.

God is NOT a super HUMAN!

If we’d begin the Gospel of John something like this it would take away a little of the arrogance wherein we’ve brought God down to our size.

In the beginning was the Creative Energy & Spirit.
That Creative & Energized Force was with God,
and it WAS God!
And so on………….

I begin almost each morning with the salutation, Father Spirit. That helps me balance how I feel I need to see God. It’s personal, but He’s so much bigger than my humanity can comprehend- impersonal.

We’ve got so far to go in BEING!

  • WELL PUT AND BETTER YET SAID, THE WHOLE IDEA THAT YOU BRING
ACROSS IS ONE ARGUED ONLY BY THOSE WHO CONTINUALLY WIELD THE OLD LITERALISM SWORD AND SHIELD AS A BASIS OF ATTACKING THE WORD” WHICH MEANS NOTHING TO THEM WHO HIDE BEHIND IT RESORTING TO MOOT’ TRIVIALTIES AS A FOUNDATION OF THEIR ARGUEMENTS JUSTIFYING THEIR CONTINUED DISBELIEF. LET THEE WHO HAVE EYES SEE AND EARS HEAR” AMEN.
