On the surface who could argue with the lead title to this commentary? If I were talking about life outside of earth, some might argue and disagree even though no one knows; however, I am talking about my faith- Christianity! I overheard some nutcase on Bill O’Reilly yesterday condemning Mitt Romney, who is running for president. Why? Romney is a Morman! And of course ALL Mormons are going to HELL and in fact everyone who didn’t agree with this wacko is going to hell. How convenient that he knows all and is one of the IN crowd! How sad that he’s too representative of so many Christians today.

For me there is no greater mission for the church today than coming back to the centrality of Jesus, the Christ and therein discovering who we are and what our relationship is with homosexuals, modern-day psychology, and other faiths. This is critical as the world gets smaller and smaller: as our neighbors are of many different faiths or lack thereof.

Christians need to ditch their imperialism and triumphalism!

Unfortunately too many of the Protestant ilk have adopted the old Catholic superiority paradigm that all who are not Roman Catholic are OUT- and I don’t mean out in the cold, but OUT and into the FIRES of HELL!

Where’s the sense and feel of Jesus in any of this exclusivity? Tell me, where is it?

I am IN God’s circle and everfyone He created (which means ALL) are IN it too, so why don’t we ditch all this arrogant religious crap and start loving ALL of God’s creation.
