God IS LOVE and He loves ALL !

Blaise Pascal (1623 – 1662 a French mathematician, physicist, and religious philosopher was a child prodigy, educated by his father) has my attention as I write this commentary beginning with this quote from him, “What a chimaera is man! What a novelty, what a monster, what a chaos, what a subject of contradiction, what a prodigy! Judge of all things and imbecile earthworm; depository of truth and sink of error and uncertainty; glory and scum of the universe.” A coat of many colors indeed.

Why are we here, who are we, and what role are we to play?

I think the only true answer can come from the One who has the copyright on us, the One who created us, and the One to whom we owe our next breath that we take. That would be GOD. What an over-used and little understood word. Adding further to Pascal, Alan Richardson (1905-1975, The Very Reverend Alan Richardson, K.B.E., D.D., formerly Dean of York, Professor of Christian Theology in the University of Nottingham and Canon of Durham Cathedral) said, “Man as a ‘god’ is unable to assert himself over man as a ‘beast’.”

How do we reconcile: or do we?

Our intellect and knowledge has shown us how to split the atom and create nuclear energy, and the atomic bomb; but, can our moral qualities allow us to use this knowledge rightly?

The Psalmist (8:4) has asked the question, “What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you visit him?” In the Genesis allegory-myth, mad was made out of the dust of the earth, to which he must also return (Ps. 104:29). There is that which God has created us to be and that which we have decided to be.

If I have figured anything out at all it is this. In this natural- third dimension, we can choose how we want to act, behave, and be used. But, there is yet that eternal world, which is so much greater (the fourth dimension) wherein we as “spirit beings” get to come into the divine intention planned before the foundation of the world.

Why mess up this first part being separated from Him?

His LOVE truly has no equal(s).
