Extended P&W took center court Friday night and so there was no Beyond Theism Ministry. And it was the most incredible 90 minutes of P&W that I have EVER experienced. EVER! There are no words other than I’ve been spoiled, loved, ruined, and so blessed by such an incredible team of both NEW & OLD musicians and singers.
Since there was no teaching ministry time, I am going to review some of the highlights from the Friday night message. Come Monday you can get the oral Podcast version as usual thanks to the diligence of one Shawn Hesketh. Lyn and I will be out of town again this weekend (details on LRCHouston web site if interested) and while I’ll miss my early morning meditation times, stuff will work out so that I won’t miss anything.
The expression is that you can’t know where you are going until you know where you’ve been. That sort of leaves out the NOW which is so important these days. The principle works nonetheless.
We are headed somewhere and that somewhere is the same for ALL of us- eventually. Many will make a temporary PIT stop (tongue in cheek) before joining up with the rest. We all have taken different routes to get to the end game though. I addressed this issue Friday night in the message Spiritual Footprints!
Can you see the trail that you’ve walked, where you’ve been?
How many detours and how long and painful were they? We will take them; however, some detours take a lot more wear and tear on us than others. Christians are called to be adventurers, pioneers, and people of the WAY. By the way, there are few road maps. Almost all of the journey needs to be by compass. You do know WHO I am talking about, right?
One key to survival is to do a check on your thinking often. Are you stuck in a rut? Are you thinking, dreaming, and pondering the same things day after day? Eckhart Tolle says that +90% of our thoughts are repititious. We just mull over them again, and again. Different thinking requires different exposures, new challenges, and changed environments, even if for an hour or so.
So, how about making this a “different weekend“? You don’t have to DO things differently, although that helps, but you must THINK differently. I’m game, how about you? I’m definitely having a different weekend of DOING, but I’m just as determined to THINK differently! As though that would be hard being around Walter Starcke! ![]()
Here’s a 9 month challenge for you, if you really want to see if you’re being transformed. Make two lists and see how many NEW FACTS you can acquire about Jesus. List # 2 would be “spiritual moments” that you have that you can’t, won’t forget.
Wanna take the Mystical Jesus challenge?
