A Journey To Where?

It may go without saying; however, we need to be reminded from time to time, that in a journey, direction is critical! So, what direction are you headed? What’s the needle on the compass say, where’s it pointing? Is it steady and on true North? Or is it jerking back and forth every time some new thought comes into your head, or when a new idea is contemplated? And then the question, is where are you headed anyway?

Our choices determine our outcome in life, and not having a direction in mind, is having a direction in mind! I’m afraid too many of us look back over life and feel like the Hebrews who had been freed from Egypt- we keep running around the mountain.

Seasons vary in length. One season we are sold out to God and then comes the stress of this or that and our focus switches to survival. For some reason we leave God out of that! Things go good and we realize we’re covered by unlimited grace and we break! The goodness of God (Rom. 2:4) is truly amazing. How could we doubt Him?

How?

Let me list the ways we do. No, let’s not! I am truly shocked at how I can turn on a dime, an event. One moment I am on top of the world and God is my Lord and Savior. An hour later, I’m wondering if God is listening to a thing I am praying for or pleading for His intervention. And then all of a sudden, seemingly out of nowhere, when I am now here, I get it!

My life is a journey in search of perfect communion with Him. The pay, way, or journey is full of needful detours. Needful? Only in America do we think every year is better than the last. Only in America do we think we can control our destiny, the stock market, our pay, hurricanes, and all. Were did we come up with such foolishness? We learn as much, if not more, from the valleys as we ever would the mountain tops. So, here is a key. Regardless of where you are on the journey with God, enjoy it! He’s always with us, so how could we not enjoy every moment?

Because we don’t know He’s with us, that’s why. You do know He’s with you as you read this, don’t you:-)
