A New Year Prayer

Could there be any more important prayer than one which asks that all humanity comes to the realization of what the Cross stands for: not seeking that everyone embraces Christianity (Christian triumphalism), but that everyone comes to the realization that the “cross proves everything” (Crux probat omnia)! Regardless of the religion that one follows, or for that matter, for those who think they have no religious beliefs (atheists), may we see the deeper meaning of why and how Jesus became the Christ.

Allow me to be specific in offering these seven prayers for all of mankind! Jesus did die for our sins, but in a much deeper WAY than religion has codified and taught; and the sins are not the ones that the church seems fixated on, nor the sin management approaches that it has taken for thousands of years! God loves the whole world- ALL!

1-May we come to the experiential realization that Jesus takes away the sins of the world NOT by fulfilling some purity code demanded by God, but by exposing that the real sin of the world is attacking and killing others whom God created.

2-May we realize that the egoic lifestyle of flight or fight is NOT what Jesus exemplified by His death on the Cross, but fusion (being ONE with the Father, Creator, God, Consciousness).

3-May we come to see that it’s NOT the bad man that’s in us all that must die on the Cross, but the good man (the false self) so that the God man can come forth!

4-May we understand that the identity of Jesus was NOT enough, but that even He had to be transformed into the “Christ” as we all must.

5-May we get deep within our soul that Jesus did NOT come as a legal necessity to change the mind of God about mankind, but Jesus came to change our mind about God!

6-May we get past the dominative and violent redemptive theories of Jesus needing to die on the Cross which are NOT what Jesus communicated unto us, but a demonstration of the love of and for God. If God used violence (the bloody and torturous death of Jesus on the Cross), then we’re justified in doing so as well- from parenting, to capital punishment, to wars.

7-The life of Jesus and the Cross is NOT about God needing to solve a cosmic problem with an unforgiving death of His Son, but a personal surrender to a love that no longer projects blame and wounding, but absorbs it and transforms hate into love.

I have many more prayers for our community, nation, and world, but I hope you’ll meditate on those seven as you enter the new year and may we ALL thought seeing and seeking the truth (not religious) find 2008 to be the most illuminative and spiritually unifying year of all! We are not separated from anyone”>, not God!

May we BE the I AM that Jesus was (John 8:58)
