Appreciate The Diversities

Christianity particularly, but all religions to some degree, feel threatened by those of another ilk, color, creed, nationality, or religion. Why are we so afraid of the differences? Differences that were created by God, by the way. My spiritual advice is get to know all those Samaritans along the road of life and do all that you can to help them. It will prove that you’re not religious, but loving and caring. The diversities are not only going to increase, but exponentially so. Since the Immigration Act of 1965, America has become the true melting pot of the world.

I have even worse spiritual advice. :-)

Invite as many people into your life that come from religious backgrounds totally foreign to you so that you can add humility to your righteousness. Listen, what we KNOW about God is very important, but what we DO with what we know about God is even more important: greatly so!

Wouldn’t it have been great if Jesus would have stopped with just ONE commandment? Love God!

But, NO!

Jesus added the second commandment- love your neighbor and I’ll de darned if they are Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, gay, lesbian, and names we don’t even have definitions for, let alone any understanding. Ask yourself. Who is my neighbor? Make a list, and then begin with those that are the most different than you. Start there. I think you’ll be greatly surprised and pleased at what you discover.

Tolerance is a good thing. It’s not a giving in to “bad things“, but giving you love, the God within you, that you are (even though you know it not) to “all things“! :-)

  • i CANT AGREE WITH YOU MORE…I WISH “THEY” WOULD STOP LABELING US AS IF WE ARE ON A SHELF IN A GROCERY STORE! AT LEAST THERE YOU DO HAVE CHOICES OF WHAT ISLE TO GO DOWN, WHAT YOU LIKE ON THAT ISLE,AND WHICH CHECKOUT LINE YOU WISH TO BE IN. WE JUST MIGHT FIND THE PERFECT RECIPE SOMEDAY!

  • LOVING GOD and others is imperative regardless of race, sex, religion, creed…etc. The word of God is also very explicit on what is not tolerated. We serve a HOLY GOD and He wants us to have a relationship with Him that is about Him and not US. How can we condone SIN, when God does not condone it? I’m not saying to hate the sinner. We are called to love the sinner but hate the sin. If you open the door for satan to come in by coming into agreement with SIN and tolerating it in your life then you deceive yourself from the truth. The Bible says that Jesus is the truth and if you know the know the truth, the truth will set you free. The truth will set you free from all bondages of SIN. SIN is SIN!! We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD. God does not tolerate it. Darkness and Light cannot mingle together. As Christians we are called to be in the WORLD but NOT of the world. The Bible says also to come out and be ye separate and you shall know them by their fruit. It also says that in the last days people will be led astray from the truth of GOD’s word. It also says that if you are in leadership and you lead people astray you will be held accountable. I don’t claim to know it all, but I do fear GOD. I believe His word is true and forever settled in Heaven. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Everyone should read the scriptures for themselves and instead of picking and choosing what they want pleases them and rationalize the word to conform to their own pleasures or liking. God will not be mocked. I believe the heart of God is very grieved at how His children are being led astray by diverse doctrines. Remember even the devil knows the word of God. What the devil can’t prevent, he’ll pervert. I challenge others to read the word of God for themselves and let the Holy Spirit reveal to them the truth therein. My heart is truly grieved at how so many are being led astray. LOVE the Lord your GOD with all your heart, soul and mind. LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
