What Jesus did 2,000 years ago got him crucified. I can’t imagine what would happen to Him today. Could it be worse? I don’t know how, but what I do know, is that when one is trying to talk others into the REAL message of Jesus, all hell will break loose. This is 2007 and we are living in America. Let the good tiems roll, and don’t tell someone what they can’t do, or can’t have. We are ENTITLED you know. Tell people how Jesus wants them to prosper, and they’ll fill the pews. But, try and convince them of the heart of the Gospel, and you’ll be heard only once- and then partially.
1-How do you sell emptiness and just plain “being“? WHo even know what that is?
2-How do you convince people to rest, meditate, and be quiet- listening for the Spirit?
3-How do you get anyone to listen to the language of descent when life in America is all about climbing the corporate ladder?
4-How you you encourage people to be open and vulnerable in a church that will kill you with that same information?
5-How does “letting go” work in a “work harder- get more” society?
6-How do you make attractive sacrifice, serving your neighbors, esteeming others higher than yourself, and god forbid, loving your enemies?
The answer to all of the above is YOU DON’T! You only pray that the Holy Spirit will allow you to be a living epistle, a demonstration of the above, without too many body blows.
