This might come as a surprise to many; however, the Bible is clear that you can be uneducated and unsophisticated in theological matters and still be one of the smartest spiritualists on the planet. We send too many missionaries to so-called backward countries where the natives are more closely in sync with God than the missionaries. Amazing itsn’t it. Sad, really.

Revivals are happening almost everywhere but America.

Latin and South America have in the last few decades seen incredible pockets of revival and they have occured without the aid of outsiders: missionaries, the Catholic church, or Pentecostal, Charismatic intervention. What has intervened is the Holy Spirit. You don’t have to be smart or a Biblical scholar to understand God or things of God. All one has to do is to give oneself over to the Holy Spirit.

John 14:26 is a scandalous verse because it tells us that the Holy Spirit will TEACH us about ALL things. Talk about nailing the ego and messing with out intellectual pride. That does not currently bode well for us Americans who do praises at the altar of the intellect.

There’s nothing wrong with being smart. Don’t hear that;but, don’t stop your journey or camp out on those ground!
