There are so many things that we don’t believe that are true and so many things that we do believe that aren’t true.
No wonder our lives are something short of what professionals, psychologists, and the Bible say our lives should be. Until we come to the place where we lay down our prejudices, begin to question complicated doctrines that make no sense in light of modern science, and give up our fears of abandoning long-standing traditions that don’t work, the path going forward will be difficult indeed.
Ah, but that’s just part of the equation.
Once we begin to walk on solid ground, we have to keep walking. I can’t tell you how many things I have found to be true, but before I have mastered a technique, I am on to the next “new thing“. Can you relate?
We are a very impatient people.
And, we seemingly can’t focus on any one thing for very long. We need one FIX after another and as a result we have left behind a road strewn with half-hearted efforts and unfinished business, let along much of anything practiced enough to become a sound habit in our life.
Can you relate mate?
