Say what? ![]()
As the philosopher has said, “I have believed in so many things that simply are not true.” The world is full of belief systems and depending upon where you live, you can get killed if you don’t agree with the prevailing belief system (can you say Iraq?). Lest we fall prey to pride, the same thing exists in America except you’re just ostracized, rejected, and made an outcast- not killed. We’re much more civilized. Really?
I believe in Jesus! You don’t say. And just what does that mean? Does belief mean you stood before a congregation and said the sinners prayer? Is that the belief you’re talking about?
Or are you talking about the belief wherein you went to church 45 out of 52 Sundays, you tithed, and you even prophecied! Are we talking about the belief wherein you cast out demons and did mighty powerful works? Are we talking about that belief of Matthew 7:22?
If so, you might want to read the next verse! ![]()
Beliefs are a good start, particularly when they are true! But ultimately, where the rubber meets the road is when our actions are engaged by trust and loyalty. We have way to many beliefs within Christiandom and not enough obedience to the man. We need more Jesus and less talk about Christ (not His last name you know).
Following Jesus is about transformation.
How’s that going in your life? And, how many things can you name as exhibits that would convict you in a court of transformation?
