My first question must be this. Is God love? My answer is YES! Is God’s love unconditional? My answer once more is YES! Is God Omniscience? My answer is YES. Is God omnipresence? My answer once more is YES! And I prefer the CE vs the T at the end. But is God Omnipotence (not omnipotent)? My answer is YES as bookends, but not in the middle. Make sense? Well, here’s how I see it. Continue reading ‘Is God Omnipotent?’

It seems to me that the light at the end of this tunnel called spiritual liminal space is getting brighter. In other words there is an increased cosmic, collective consciousness that is opening our awareness to the reality of who we are. One of the things that has to go in this spiritual awakening is the two power- duality paradigm! Continue reading ‘Why Holy Spirit?’
On the one hand it is sad to wake up one day and realize that you have held on to some “beliefs” that are UNTRUE! What’s worse is to realize that something is untrue, but not be willing to make the course changes to get back on solid ground. The good news is that you have the option of living the truth at least for the rest of your life- should you so desire. Sadly, many don’t! Continue reading ‘Father Favoring Faults’
My purpose here, which I hope to accomplish, is to make simple some concepts that are either too complicated or even addressed by those who call themselves Christians. At the core of Christainity is Jesus, the Christ, and what one thinks of Him which is called Christoloy. He was an historical person (man) who lived and walked this earth. Then there is God who is far more abstract and what we think of Him which is called theology. Ready? Continue reading ‘A Balanced Christology’
How difficult it is to honor the ancient customs and traditions of our religion and stay intellectually honest at the same time. Our Christian faith is ageless but it is encumbent on us to keep it relevant with a language and form that’s believable. To do so requires very great care to utilize modern language and an interpretation of those time honored truths that fit realistic, scientific, and current cultural paradigms. This is not a “selling out” of the core beliefs, but a deepening understanding of them. Continue reading ‘Spiritual Integrity’
I really contemplated where I should post this commentary and none of the many that I write seemed appropriate. What I’m about to write though seems lost in the “otherness” of life or somewhere in that hallway called “liminal space“: a place where were’ totally lost, but found by God, so it’s here that I have landed. Continue reading ‘Talking To Trees’
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus! And don’t ever forget it! The English translation of the Latin phrase is “Outside the church there is no salvation”. Why do Catholics particularly get off with such arrogance. I know, tradition Ernie, tradition! Protestants don’t say it exactly that way; however, they come close by saying that there is no salvation outside of Christianity. Like why would one go into Texas stadium wearing a Sooners T-shirt? Are you insane, mad, or just looking to make your life miserable? Back off of the John 14:6 when you first meet someone. Don’t lead with your chin, even if it is made of steel. Continue reading ‘The Stench Of Exclusivism’
People look to the Bible for all sorts of things and they view it as just as many. It’s a science book, a history book, and a “how-to” just about anything. Have you noticed how many Find You Mate Christian web sites there are. step right up folks, open your Bible and find whatever it is you need or the cure for whatever ails you. How sad! Continue reading ‘It’s A Bible!’
There is no such thing as moral perfection in the third dimensional world- where we live. Many self-righteous try to run the game, but you can smell that like bad chicken that’s been in the sun too long. Neither should our final confidence in the worth of a human life hang on any moral standards of perfection. Formal obedience to moral precepts, while desireable, fall far short of Kingdom living. Continue reading ‘Accepted & Affirmed!’
Am I really biologically tied to Adam? And if so, does that mean that I have some sort of quasi-biological connection wherein all the abd stuff that I do is because of what Adam did thousands of years ago? It’s a tough act to folloow and an even harder sell among the intellectual (spiritual or not). What I’m talking about here is the religious concept of Original Sin. In classical theological terms, original sin is mans way of understanding evil or why bad things happen. So, we say, without saying it, that it’s because Adam and Eve (an allegorical story) messed up in the garden and so my blood is tainted with sin. I just can’t buy it!
