Love is Freedom!

God is love and yet we see pain and suffereing, evil and sin all around us. How does that work? While I believe there is no way to intellectually work out the realities of evil in the world, I can get there by faith. No argument can prove that God is love, but a life lived by and through Him can. Continue reading ‘Love is Freedom!’

Missed Kingdom Opportunities

We live in the land of the wealthy! America is a blessed nation- beyond understanding. People can’t wait to come here and it’s not just for the money, but for the freedoms that are found here as well. Alexis de Tocqueville (1805 – 1859) was a French political thinker and historian best known for his worked entitled, Democracy in America. He realized how dangerous American freedoms were and those warnings were not limited just to secular life. Christians have become increasingly selfish with their time and money- dangerously so! They Love Me- They Love You!

Tragically, there are way too many Christians who go to church every Sunday, maybe even Sunday evening, with a Bible study mid week. They tithe and do “good works” for the Lord. They appear to be happy and totally sold out to God. But, if you could see inside that outer shell, you’d find many lonely people who don’t even know if God exists. They have no relationship with Jesus or God, beyond the words they speak. And you can even put Mother Teresa in that category! Continue reading ‘They Love Me- They Love You!’

Not My God!

My Jesus and My God are loving, kind, compassionate, merciful, and a far cry from the God presented in the Old Testament. is there any wonder that Marcion thought there were actually two Gods? When we get down to it no one can define God. How could the finite explain the infinite? Worst of all for me, is how do some people define God as they do? Let me give you a couple of examples. Continue reading ‘Not My God!’

He Came To Save The World!

It must be something that is in the water! Ronald Reagan, Pat Robertson, Caspar Weinberger, the late Jerry Falwell, and all those millions who bought the Left Behind series believe the end is coming soon. Of course many on the far right wing of the religious political spectrum have been bleating the RAPTURE for centuries! Alas, we’re still here!

Bigger Than Jesus of Nazareth!

While I am bent on following Jesus, the man from Nazareth, I also realize that what He was pointing to was a WAY (John 14:6) that was much bigger than even His mortal life here on earth. He was properly proclaimed the CHRIST! My Jesus (as this web site is partially called) became who He said I could become, if I would but FOLLOW HIM. And it’s such a tragedy that the church isn’t teaching us that as well. Here’s what I’m saying, or trying to. Continue reading ‘Bigger Than Jesus of Nazareth!’

A Nurturing Model

You can have all the hell fire and brimstone you want. Me? I’m into the Abba Father that Jesus saw, the God that Jesus talked with daily, and the Creator of the universe that ame ALL things GOOD. You kow, that loving, merciful, forgiving, and NURTURING God. Forget all the church “control stuff” and get back to what Jesus said and pictured to us. Continue reading ‘A Nurturing Model’

Logical Or Looney?

Have you ever thought about how someone outside of the Christian community must feel when they hear that there was this man from Nazareth who lived 2,000 years ago and He purposefully “died for our sins“? And then you have to logically follow this logic, which may not seem quite so logical to them. Follow along now. Continue reading ‘Logical Or Looney?’

The Power Of Love

I have become more and more convinced recently that healing and miracles are a direct result of LOVE! Now, waht does one do with something like that? How does one LOVE that much, demonstrate love, etc.? I just sense it, feel it, and am out to prove it! No easy task, I know. But here’s what I think-see. Continue reading ‘The Power Of Love’
