Truth, Fiction, Or Far More?

How much of what we embrace as truth, doctrine, or word of God really is? I believe it was Thomas Mann who said, “We believe so many things theat never have happened, but nonetheless are true.” Wrap your mind around that. It’s like this lake of fire, eternal hellfire and damnation. How is it that in Revelation 20:14 hell can be thrown into the lake of fire when hell has been described as THE lake of fire? How much of what we believe is really truth? Continue reading ‘Truth, Fiction, Or Far More?’

What Do We Look Like?

We’re called to be living epistles. So, what’s that mean, and more importantly, what’s that look like? I hate to admit it but I used to say “Praise God” as an asnwer to everything. Someone would say something about the weather and there it would flow, “Praise God“. Your sandwich tastes good? Well, “Praise the Lord”. Looking back I have to wonder just what kind of a “living epistle I was. Continue reading ‘What Do We Look Like?’

Do We Have False Ideas About God?

Is the Pope Catholic? Can you classify Jerry Falwell as a right wing conservative? Am I somewhat below the intelligence of God? DUH!
Okay, back to the question and the real point behind the question. We SAY on the one hand something about God and then we turn around and DO something that totally negates what we have previously affirmed. Or, at least I can confess I’ve done that several times. Continue reading ‘Do We Have False Ideas About God?’

The Letter Kills And………..Etc.

How many times do we have to read how legalism takes away your joy, the letter kills, the law works wrath (Rom 4:15), and the doctrines of man have no power, before we start to believe it’s true? When will we begin to believe that the doctrine of grace is where the power is? Continue reading ‘The Letter Kills And………..Etc.’

Made Up Stories Work!

You can get into a real fight if you doubt any of the Biblical stories of old. I didn’t say you thought they were not true- just that you might have some doubt! In an arena (religion) where one is called upon to have faith, Hebrews 11:1, which means you can’t be certain, all of a sudden you must be certain. If I am certain, for sure, absolutely and positively sure, is that really the definition of faith? Continue reading ‘Made Up Stories Work!’

Where Are The Reindeer?

Every now and then I look back over my life and review what I’ve been taught by some loving, gentle, and kind people. And I wonder how it is that I agreed, bought in, on some stuff that is more akin to Santa Claus paradigms than a God who created the universe? So much of Christianity that is taught and practiced in America today is religion without the reindeer! However, we’ve kept the Santa Claus mental constructs in place; safe and secure! Continue reading ‘Where Are The Reindeer?’

Living In The Past

Paul tells us in Phil 3:13-14 to quit living in the past. Quit processing that same old garbage that only burdens you down, makes you feel bad about yourself, and keeps you rehearsing the same old lines time after time. Do some neural pruning. Get rid of the accusations that are played in your head day after day, and especially late at night. Whoever the “accuser” may be, don’t listen to him- or her! Matthew 6 tells us to seek first the Kingdom. The Kingdom is NOW! Jump in with both feet to the now moments of life! Continue reading ‘Living In The Past’

Soul Train!

The divine dance isn’t found on Soul Train, but it is truly a matter of where the soul is going, and which track it is running on. Much has been written on the body and soul. Our body would have no motion, no personality if it were not driven by the soul. The soul is position is between the body and spirit and threin we should get a clue as to the pivitol nature of the soul. Let me say more. Continue reading ‘Soul Train!’

Heaven & Hell

It is amazing the fascination that we have with the myths of heaven and hell. Just alluding to the fact that there might be myths will cause you some immediate hell in the hear and now. I’m surprised at the anger, fear, and phobias that have come from even substituting the word-term-concept of hell with divine judgment. Is there anyone who thinks that divine judgment would be a walk in the park. Continue reading ‘Heaven & Hell’

Living In The Now

Many people will look at the title and say, “He’s off into new age“. I am simply trying to live the Kingdom life that Jesus is calling us to. The ego wants us to live horizonally. Live in the past, live with your hurts, live with your pain and memories of what has been. Or, the ego says live for this, live for that, and when your kids graduate you can divorce your husband and everything will be beautiful! Sorry! How you do NOW, if how you do EVERYTHING. I’m working on doing NOW much better, so tomorrow will. Continue reading ‘Living In The Now’
