How about that for a mouthful? You may not be aware of it; however, there is a major disconnect between what RELIGION espouses and what SCIENCE says is true. Of course both camps are certain that they are right. In this commentary, I want to look at the religious propositions only.
The rigid hierarchal BS (belief system) of religion is coming under increasing scrutiny and fire.
It’s not just the scientific community that taking shots. Those who labored under and in the myriad of religious systems are coming out of the closet and into the LIGHT of the SPIRIT. The rampant idolatry and superstition of the dark ages has taken a long time to be exposed; however, the most orthodox of positions are being out under the microscope of truth and reality.
The various religious mantras are not passing the smell test, not to mention the bottom line results tests. There is a changing of the guard (God) under way.
It’s not about God out there, blind faith to Catholic Church traditions, total inerrancy of the Bible, the pay-to-pray system, and other standard mantras. Have we forgotten that Indulgences no longer cut it, nor the half shekel price of admission to the Passover service? And yet the church still erects the tollbooths at each service with a five to fifteen minute mini-sermon (some much longer) on the necessity of giving (ie. if you don’t you won’t be blessed).
Where’s the HEART issue of giving?
The bottom line is that the dogmatic practices of the church ancient and modern must give way; however, the dogmatic programming runs deep and carries with it such dysfunctional behaviors that a changing of the system won’t be easy. And in many cases, there will be no change: and thus no fruit, no major transformation(s).
Ernie I see the only way that I can change my thinking is threw the heart.I have been reading a lot about the brain in hte heart.
I all so just read today the when we think about the love of God it brings love and joy for the whole body but when we think about judgement it brings fear and is not good for any ones health.
Like you said the scientest are see more of the love of God then the church.
Love Dan
Jesus confronted the religious mindset because his teachings were about the kingdom which has to do with the heart and not about the law.He said the kingdom is within you and that it was all was based on two commandments to love God and others and religion hates this because it cancels the I must measure up in order to be accepted by the church. So we give of ourselves out of obligation to fullfill the law and there’s no room to love others because we can’t see their need only the I must strive in order to get by that has blinded us to the truth.I believe in order to change we need to be able to see the kingdom by taking the time to realize that his love is everywhere and in everyone we meet.In other words the kingdom is not a place but the love in your heart.
Joe- Wow. Your last line is my last paragraph in Mondays commentary (tomorrow). We’ve both evidently heard the same thing this afternoon. Fancy that!
