It seems that we are constantly forgetting that Jesus was FULLY HUMAN! Can you say FULLY? Do you know what that means, what the implications might be? I think Jesus knew that we’d easily write off His BEING (and achievements for the goal oriented) if we only concentrated on His divinity, being the cornerstone, the first born spiritual Son, etc. So, here’s what we find in the Bible, that’s a good reminder for us today.
Jesus said over and over again I AM HUMAN!
It seems that King James couldn’t somehow understand that point. Let me give you an example. In John 9:35 in the KJV (in the RED) has it “Do you believe on the Son of GOD”. God? How’d they decide that the Greek word anthropos (SC444) meant God?
You find that same Greek word in John 9:24, just a few verses earlier and the word anthropos is translated MAN. Then a bit earlier than that (John 9:16) we find the Greek word, anthropos, once more. Guess how it’s translated in the KJV?
Yep…………..MAN!
More than 95% of the translations say Son of MAN in John 9:35. And what’s the big deal you ask?
1-How about translation consistency and integrity?
2-How about the truth that encourages us that we human beings can do and BE what Jesus was and IS (John 14:12)
3-Why not alleviate us from the GUILT that we can’t be God, but we can do miraculous and divine things.
Jesus was the Son of God, but He didn’t want us to lose track of what we apparently already have done- forgotten His humanity which is our MODEL for life and death!
