Is the Pope Catholic? Can you classify Jerry Falwell as a right wing conservative? Am I somewhat below the intelligence of God? DUH!
Okay, back to the question and the real point behind the question. We SAY on the one hand something about God and then we turn around and DO something that totally negates what we have previously affirmed. Or, at least I can confess I’ve done that several times.
How many times have I said that God is all powerful and then claimed that He can’t do something for me or for a loved one. That He chose not to is a correct answer. That he COULD NOT is simply not true to an all-powerful God.
Others say God is all-loving and then turn around and say that His plan for those that don’t confess Him is an everlasting, eternal, tormenting, torturous hell. Say What? I’ve got to go with Thomas Allin who said the following.
“Endless torment contradicts the true enod of punishment, even apart from the question of its injustice. Eternal hell is pure sadistic, cruel barbarity, because it is only vindictive.”
I could go on but I would simply offier this spiritual advice (that is the purpose of this web site). Question, question, question. What do you really believe? If you don’t question your faith, you have none, Jesus was the ultimate questioner- critiquer. In Matthew 5, He repeatedly says, “You have heard it said, but I SAY!”.
And if you really want to check out some of what you think you believe, ask a few unaved friends who know you what they thinkof what, you think! ![]()
