It’s a political hot potato phrase, a sexual discrimination issue, and it’s also a religious concept. I think you understood the first two, but how about the application of the third concept? There’s a bumper sticker around these parts that says “God Listens“. That’s a big problem as I see it!

Of course you know the answer, in your heart you do, we all do. We live in a massively EGOIC world wherein we think it is all about US! It’s really not. There is way too much going to God to GET!
God’s not here to SERVE us. It’s the other way around. :ife really comes down to LISTENING to God and then BEING what He says to us, which will eventaully end up in some DOING (of His will).
Don’t ask (for things), don’t tell (God what you want); instead, SIT and LISTEN! Then BE! That’s my advice. 
Kuddoes snap snap. If we listened to God for us, our own journey, for answers…I believe His answers for our life would take us so far out of the comfort zone it would scare us. The powerless would rather die, medicate, and exhibit declension before listening to the name of God. God wants us to stop blasting His name uselessly. They don’t care, they don’t listen because Christians smear the whole essence of knowing Him. To take on His calling to BE His name silently with action means shut the mouth and open the ears. He talks through action of the hurting & even in directions to walk. The human element blurs everything that could be true. Words get us nowhere. Actions can be silent and loud. In film the best scenes have no lines, no words, only action with an impact. If we gave our life & risked dying to serve freedom to all, freedom that goes beyond our selfish needs, we would finally grasp the reality of knowing that WHO & WHAT we follow/ serve/ will never fail us. That bond with the creator of the World came with a cost that He already spent. Can we bleed for Him to DO His will without asking anything? He knows our needs already but the powerless lost sheep is His focus.
