Duality : A House Divided

The King James Version of the Bible says it like this in Matthew 12, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand”. What’s ironic and sad at the same time is to see Christians (or others) quote it and then live it as though they never voiced it. Too many of us are living with our head and not our heart.

At the core what this principle is telling us us that we can’t think evil of another and good for ourselves.

We are all ONE and therein to have ill feelings against another is to hamper our own good feelings about ourselves. To reject Muslims is to reject ourselves. To have a bias against people of another culture, creed, or ethnicity is to practice DIVISION. To hold to such CERTITUDE that you can’t stand the ideas of another is dividing the house.

To believe in many powers and not ONE POWER is duality which leads one automatically into separation which is really “the” sin of life. There really isn’t any power that can form against you that can prosper unless you give it power. When we simply WALK in the TRUTH without “thinking” or bringing our prejudices into play, we can truly walk on water.

Or, like a twelve year old gal who got up out of her bed (sleep walking), ventured out on the ledge of her hotel room and took a five minute stroll around the building on that ledge which was eighteen inches wide and on the 12th floor. That which she did unconsciously she would have never done awake. In the flip side of that, there’s so many things that we do awake that we would not do if led by the Spirit.

Easy? No way! But the principle remains true. What “separations” are you creating or living in now that’s causing your dreams to crumble under the weight of ” a house divided”?

  • Jesus knew that we have a real enemy who will sew seeds of doubt and unbelief in our hearts which do great damage to us. (Matthew 13:18-23). Many times these seeds are sewn below the conscious level. In Luke 11:21 and 22, Jesus tells us the strong man guards his own homestead until someone stronger than him attacks and overpowers him. This is a metaphor for demonic strongholds in our minds which keep us from being in agreement with God. In order to overcome prejudice, hated, unbelief, etc. we must meditate on the truth of God’s word to allow the truth to set us free.

  • Ever try fighting against yourself. Can’t do that if you realize we all are ONE. Thanks, Ernie.
