We know this, we acknowledge the reality of Huxley’s statement, but our ego cannot help but fight the facts because such statements challenge the existence of our ego. The ego knows what it knows and what it doesn’t know it must deny or challenge the validity of that which is spoken against it. Why?

Why do we rail against what we don’t agree with or find to be true? Why can’t we just abstain from any objecting, or trying to defend what it is we believe? Can you say ego? Our innate quest for “being right” is a powerful force. Every time I make a vow or take a stand to just “let things be“, I discover this uneasiness within.

Let it be?

The ego is never satisfied, it won’t be until these mortal bodies that house our spirit man falls away. But we can do a lot to resurrect the spirit man and give it more say in our life if we choose. That choice is to follow Jesus. It’s okay to “say” we’ll follow Jesus, but once you get serious about it and start questioning the “status quo“, the battle is on!

Any time anyone says anything that does not fit our current “paradigm“, the ego goes into damage control and it does so by not just rejecting, but putting down the message and the messanger. It’s the only way the go knows how to stay in control. And it’s very successful at it as well.
