Faulty Interpretations

Which came first: the chick or the egg? The proverbial question isn’t just for philosophical gamesmanships. Isn’t it interesting that those who claim the WORD of God as final, do so of course with “their interpretations” of the Word. I used to place the Bible, the Word of God, above all. Everything had to come back to the WORD for confirmation, verification, and validation. How convenient that the WORD was according to my interpretation. How convenient indeed.

Do we not read that Mark 12:24 “You therefore err, because you DON’T KNOW the scriptures, neither the power of God.” That doesn’t mean that you haven’t read the Scriptures, but that you aren’t interpreting the Scriptures rightly.

The Bible will remain mis-interpreted, and we will stay in our prejudicial paradigms unless “the hearing ear, and the seeing eye” (Proverbs 20:12) are working properly. May we embrace Luke 8:8 with a passion.

Remember the LETTER KILLS! II Corinthians 3:6.

Some of the worst tragedies have been accomplished in the “name of God- the mis-interpretation of the Bible”. Need I remind us that the Ku Klux Klan have based their deadly actions on the letter of the law. Just because one wears a suit, makes good money, and is respected by his professional community in which they labor (regardless of the sector), doesn’t mean that in their heart (under the sheep’s clothing) isn’t a dark demon thinking he’s upholding the Scripture rightly, while being far from it!

Scary thoughts! :-(
Judge all actions, thinking, and Biblical interpretations by grace and love. It’s that simple.

It’s that difficult.
