How crazy is the notion let alone the total absence of logic to say that God is LOVE and then proclaim that He (masculine authority figure of course) sends BILLIONS of people to hell for ETERNITY! The God who IS (I AM) cannot act apart from LOVE.
When someone says that God is LOVE and then contends that his JUSTICE demands that people who reject God must be sent to hell, they lose rational thinking people who are outside the “Christian circle”. God is love, but if you disobey he will punish you forever? God asks us to forgive ad infinitum (metaphorical 70 x 7) and yet God cannot forgive?
Have I missed something from my college LOGIC classes?
The church points to the trinity as an example of how RELATIONAL God is. LOVE of course is all about good relations and building relationships. So tell me then, how is it that the church majors on PERFORMANCE? Why all the hierarchy, rules, and doctrines which are so critical that if they are not followed the church will break relationship- excommunicate you if you are Catholic particularly?
Does any of this sound convoluted?
Why is it that meritocracy trumps grace?
Why has the church chosen a denominational lifestyle (20,000+ Christian denominations in the world) and thereby choosing independence over relationship? And oh how the church loves the LAW because therein distinctions can be made about who is GOOD and who is BAD, who is IN and who is OUT. We don’t have to please God let alone please the church and all of its RULES!
I’m going with the apostle James who said MERCY triumphs over JUSTICE. In fact, for me, LOVE is JUSTICE! Ponder that one for awhile. 
Ernie praise God His mercy that triumphs over judgement why can’t the church see this.When I first had my eyes open to this truth I said why did I not see this before it is and want to tell others this truth but was alway ment up with but what about this verse or that verse and still get the same answer this day.
Now I just tell people that God’s love is living word is in your heart and His love is greater then anything and His mercy is forever.
