We can’t have it both ways. We can’t say that God is omnipresence, and then say that we’re looking for God. What we’re looking for is what we’re looking with. The very thing that is reaching after God IS God (Don’t wig out on me now!). I am a PART of God, not the whole of God. I am not perfect, pure, and holy, but I am spirit and God is Spirit.
So, why don’t we start liing as such and quit making excuses.
Come unto ME all you who are burdened down with debt, unforgiveness, prejudices, and defeatist attitudes and I will give you the truth which will give you rest. So, where is this ME? Where is this ME that we’re to come to and find this rest? Where indeed?
All those stuggles that take so much strength from us, all those battles that we use so much energy fighting, and all those fears that keep us awake at night- LET GO!
There is nothing so wearisome than the thought that we must FIND GOD and that we must BATTLE EVIL, or even that we must MEDITATE DAILY. Give it up! How can I find what’s not lost? I AM! I just need to awaken to the reality of the being, spirit, person that I AM! And to battle evil is to continue the lie that we are separate from God. Ditch the duality dangers. Embrace the oneness that Jesus so prayed that we’d see- and BE!
Is there anything in a God-created universe that needs to be destroyed?” Walter Lanyon
We need to quit being blown to and fro like a feather with every wind of doctrine. Embrace the Spirit of the one that we are and watch as you begin to see God everywhere, in everything, at all times. Your mind is probably already going on the offensive telling you that this can’t be God and that can’t be God and surely your neighbor is going to hell.
Don’t buy it. Refuse to ponder it. Just BE, because God IS and God is ALL!
Everything belongs.
I agree that we need to trust God and rest in Him. But we do need to keep our minds on the Lord and His truths, because we do have a real enemy that has come to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). That’s why Peter told us to “be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour, but resist him, firm in your faith…” (I Peter 5:8,9) It’s not enough to know that we who believe in Jesus are one with God. We need to incorporate the truths found throughout all of scripture into our lives or we will give place to the devil. (Eph. 4:27,6:11) Jesus told us to live by every word that proceeds from God’s mouth (Matthew 4:4) It takes time meditating on God’s word to become stable enough to make it through the tough times. It’s the engrafted word that saves our souls. (James 1:21)
I affirm the need to live by “every word that proceeds from the “MOUTH of God” ; however, many feel that God is no longer speaking (beyond the print on paper), or that HEARING (His now word) is somehow less important than READING (Bible). Faith comes by HEARING what God’s saying this moment as I type these words.
