God is not a NEGOTIATOR!

I doubt there is a person alive who has not tried to make a deal with God: hundreds of times. The degree of “deal making” runs the gamut from mildly innocent to wildly wacko! I’ll give up smoking if you’ll bless me Father sounds like a good deal for God now doesn’t it? God understands when you’re sitting outside a hospital operating room. He feels your pain. He knows you’re under duress and that you’ll cop a plea, make a deal, say whatever for the moment. It’s human nature.

Who Wants Cheaper Insurance?

God isn’t human. He’s Spirit! He knows!

If you let me win the lottery, I’ll give 50% to the church is not realistic. Listen God knows! God KNOWS differently! You may be sincere about your intentions but if you did win the lottery, you wouldn’t give God 50%. How you’re doing NOW is how you’ll do tomorrow. God knows! :-)

Let’s be realistic. We don’t have anything that God NEEDS! Get that into your brain and it will immediately change your thought processing. Infinite doesn’t have finite needs. Sorry!

God has already placed demands and conditions on us. What about Deuteronomy 28 you ask? You know the “if I”, “then you” stuff. If I obey, then you bless. God was blessing before Deut. 28- and demanding. Gods’ goods are not for sale. God’s not into “Let’s Make A Deal”. God didn’t deliver Isreal from slavery because of any deal, but because of love- it’s His nature. He is love before any deal is offered up, before any request is made. Deut. 28 is just saying this is how life is.

Karma baby! :-)

The GOOD NEWS though is that God GIVES & LOVES unconditionally more than we can ask for! We don’t need deals. We just need Him!

Be satisfied with that. It’s more than enough!

  • Seventeen years ago, I believe God removed the compulsion and the obsession regarding an addiction that I have suffered from all my life. I was so amazed and awestruck that this happened, I offerred to Him a lifetime of service to those who were still suffering. Sounds like the right thing to do doesn’t it? You do for me and I do for you! Little did I know I was falling into a trap that almost cost me everything. As this article states “God is not a negotiator!” Today I understand that God doesn’t need anything from me because He blessed me. He blessed me because He is a loving Father, not to get anything from me. I made a terrible mistake in not understanding this simple truth. I love Him with all my heart but I don’t “Owe” Him anything. It doesn’t work like that. If I died a sinner today, He would still love me. With all my life-energy I will act and think not to sin.
Today I understand that God desires me to be Truly Free in heart and mind and not be subject to guilt and shame in the event I do not come up to unreasonable standards. God bless you all.
