Happiness Discovered!

When you pray (you do don’t you?), to whom are you praying? What name have you given to that entity, being to whom you’re speaking? Most Westerners pray to God, Easterners pray to Allah, Buddha, and theren there are those around the globe praying to such as Consciousness, Creater, Divine Being, Ultimate Source, Light, Fourth Dimension, or I Am. The results are amazingly the same.

There is but ONE, so why should that surprise us, unless we think that to whom we pray has a monopoly on all other names, and what’s not said but believed- we’re right, and all others are wrong. :-(

We pray to ONE. The various ames are just symbols that point to the reality. Don’t get all bound up in words that man has created. I love that yellow fruit and I peel one or two everyday. It’s a great supply of potassium: it’s called CHUI in Vietnamese, and banana in English, but it’s the same fruit. :-)

It amazes me that we can’t see that just such an attitude is the opposite of any character of God! How could anyone know all the details of an infinite God? Tell me, how does that squre? Sir Arthur Addington wrote, ” Something unknown is doing we don’t know what when we pray.”

Across the board in Christendom, prayers are primarily in the area of health and finances. Ring a bell, touch a nerve? Granted we need a minimal amount of those to really pray effectively. Hang with me now. Our happiness is already within, just waiting to be opened. It’s not out there somewhere. It’s not found in another first, but only after it’s been discovered by our own awakening to who we really are- I AM!

But as Thich Nhat Hanh wrote, “When we have been in touch with the ultimate dimension, then wheter our temple or our practice center burns down, whether people smear our reputation, are jealous of us, or accuse us unjustly, we can still smile and be peaceful and joyful. ”

Are you smiling?

Have you discovered true happiness
