We can so easily say Happy New Year and it is as hollow as a termites tree. Does such an expression mean anything, really say anything significant or meaninful? Well, let me express my greetings to you as e enter this New Year, 2007. And here’s what I “mean” when I say Happy New Year.
I am saying that I wish you a year that is HAPPY, because it is NEW! Duh!
In this web site, where I explore things I’ve not seen, things I don’t know (so how can I explore them?), and things beyond theism, NEW is the culture. George Bernard Shaw said it this way, “Some people see things that ARE and ask WHY; others see things that never have been and ask WHY NOT?
Why not indeed?
Could it be that we awaken one day to find out that much of what we thought was permanent, was but a passing event or paradigm? So it took 100 or 1,000 years to pass. God’s got time! He’s in no rush. What if the “Fundamentalists” discovered that much of what they were and had been embracing wasn’t really all that, shall we say fundamental? Bummer! ![]()
What if, what if, what if? I am increasingly sensing that the church as we’ve known it is about to be changed- big time! Jesus died for “the” church. I believe the church is the “vehicle” that God has chosen to accomplish His purpose and plans- the Kingdom. But I am not at all convinced that we’ve yet seen that true church. However, I think we’re about to see it.
I hope your NEW Year is indeed HAPPY. It will be if you’re not too religious. ![]()
