I’ve said it for a couple of decades now. Many people HEAR “I encourage you to sin”. And what is sin? I’m not talking bout the legalistic definition, but the realistic and practical operating definition. And who gets to decide that. Don’t tell me God or the Bible because both of them get interpreted through the paradigms and worldviews of each individual religion. Unfortunately, religion has been the cause of more wars, killings, and guilt than any other institution. The zeal to MAKE-FORCE everyone to be PERFECT is the cause; and it’s been placed on people by those who are not perfect. What’s up with that?
Absolute perfection in this third dimensional world is IMPOSSIBLE!
Can we just leave it at that? Please!
I am a pragmatic idealist. I am striving to be the best I can while being practical about the process and concept. In other words, quit putting the guilt and shame trip of Matthew 5:48 on people. No one can be perfect like God. God embodies an “underived perfection“. Ours, as close as we can get to it, is a “derived perfection” at best. Whatever we have comes from Jesus and the grace of God.
Perfection is the hatchet man of LAW!
Once you see that and once you taste grace, then the church, your pastor, guide, or spouse can no longer put you under their thumb of guilt. At the finite level that we live on, this world, this kingdom, this third dimensional living, it is perfect to be imperfect. And at this finite level, we ALL need something to complete us! Call it God, Jesus, or grace- CALL UPON IT!
And quit being in bondage to the “perfection hoop” that religion tries to keep you jumping in. Religion hates freedom: knowlingly or unknowingly. I’ve received more than one email in the last twenty four hours of hate and religiosity that could not stand the fact that I said Jesus was fully human and not perfect. How could anything, anyone be HUMAN and be perfect? Those are opposite and contrary concepts.
I love the humanity of Jesus! I CAN attain it. What I can’t attain is the “religious perfection game” that keeps me on the treadmill of guilt and shame.
How blind we all are- to whatever we choose to not want to see. Come out of the darkness and click here!
It pains me for you to write your heart out and not have a response.
So, my thought is that God loves a heart that is so in love with Him/Her that the focus is totally on God and not on oneself. The idea is that we are moving God’s kingdom forward…not focusing on who we are or what we will become. In that place, there is no fear of imperfection.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
My comments don’t require a response, just a watering so that the seeds will bear fruit.
