He Wants To Help

If there is anything that’s brought me great comfort in the last few years it is the realization of how much God loves me and how much He wants to be involved in my life. Why wouldn’t He? He created me for a purpose- His! Which means He didn’t create me for what I and my ego wanted to do. CLICK HERE for more on that. Life can be peaceful and happy as long as we’re pleased with His plans!

If on the other hand we think God is going to remove all the pain and evil from the world, it’s going to be a frustrating life indeed. His kingdom is not of this world. How many times did He say that?

And He combined the two thoughts mentioned above in John 18:36.

The disciples were wanting Him to beat up on their Roman enemies, be the MAN, and deliver them from the sins of the world. After all that’s what the Messiah that the Jews had been anticipating was meant to do.

So, let’s get on with the plan Stan.

Jesus said (in my paraphrase) that’s not my game plan. I’m not here to cure the world of sin- as a personal feat, in my humanity. That must happen from a spiritual angle. Besides, didn’t Jesus tell us to leave sin alone, let sin be a part of the world? You do remember Matthew 13 now don’t you (the wheat and tares)?

This all sorta messes up our religious gig doesn’t it. His plan is great but we have to go to Him and see HOW He wants to help, not with declarations as to what we want to see. Sure, tell Him what you’d like, but then do what He says.

God really wants to help make our life more abundantly rich (don’t just read US$’s).
