What was the last thing that you really, really wanted- badly?

Come on. Stop reading for a moment and help me out here: you’ll be helping yourself as well. It doesn’t have to be the last thing, but something you had your heart set on. Maybe I can assist you. There are lots of trivial things such as: a dress, a special outing or invitation, lunch with an important person, or a big screen TV (a guy thing of course).

Then there are what might be serious things, like a job, a promotion, a transfer, an appointment to a special committee, a house, or maybe even really serious stuff like one of your children being admitted to college with a full scholarship or being healed from a persistent ailment or disease. And the longer you have had to desire the thing the better.

Got one in mind?

Whatever it is that you have in mind it pales in comparison to the desire that God has in you just spending time with Him. God so wants you to desire to communicate with Him, talk to Him throughout the day, when you get up, when you go to bed, and ask Him questions about life like a child does a dad. What’s this about daddy, why does this work this way dad, and can you help me fix this?

I feel we at LRC (I can’t believe this is only for us, but IT IS for us) are in a season where God is deperately, once again, trying to get our attention. He’s wooing us. He wants us to focus on His Son between now and April 16th; knowing that if we will, then we will after April 16th as well. Isn’t it totally amazing? The God who created the universe wants us to want Him! Wow!

Anyone who has been a dad or a mom knows the incredible feeling to have a son or daughter WANT to be with you. Man-o-man what a feeling. There is very little dad doesn’t want to do for a child with that disposition. Are you listening? If you are, you know it’s true! Abba Father has already demonstrated his mind-boggling love for us by the death of His Son on the cross. You can’t believe what He’s offering.

And you won’t know until you take him up on His offer!
