You’re probably not going to like this commentary, but with most of my readers located in the Bible belt , this won’t be the first time the reading is not to your liking. Being stretched though does have it benefits- even having to grapple with opposites can sometimes bring a new synthesis. Maybe comparing Hitler & Christians could do the the same. Let’s see.
As I sat in the cool California weather (55 degress in Houston, with no humidity, in April!) this morning my mind wandered off to an earlier conversation with a beautiful woman (my wife) about how amazing it is that we see the zits on everyone else, but the mirror somehow hides ours. Jesus said something about seeing the splinter in the eyes of others but somehow not noticing the log in ours.
I wonder how Hitler will do spending an eternal hell with all those Jews that he killed?
Will the Jews pummel him with fire and brimstone? I mean he will be out numbered greatly! Some say 5-10 million Jews? Now that would be an eternal HELL, for those that believe in such a thing. I’m not one of those. Most Christians cannot see Hitler being restored by God, so he’s off to hell eternally. And of course since the Jews didn’t believe in JAY-ZUS (as the Pentecostals say), they’re spending eternity in hell with him.
But do you not find it disturbing that the fundamentalist Christian mindset is much the same as Hitlers? Retributive punishment can be a terrible thing you know!
The God I know restores ALL!
You see Hitler was out to create this “special race” and all others were to be sent to hell. Fundamentalist Christians have a different “special race” (those who BELIEVE the RIGHT things and have SAID the RIGHT WORDS), while all others (can you say Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, et al) will be sent to hell as well. Both Hitler & Christians have this “special race” mentality and all others are doomed.
I’m sure glad that’s not the GOOD NEWS that Jesus brought. No one group had a MONOPOLY on a membership in heaven. God’s WILL -will be done! And God does have the FINAL WORD!

Thank you for an open-minded, realistic, LOVING interpretation of the Gospels.
The GOOD NEWS is…………GOD IS LOVE!
