It begins at home and if it’s not practiced there, it’s near impossible to get it anywhere else. Gangs will lure people in with the promise, but ultimately, that’s not why they want you. I am talking about the need for us to learn LOVE at our mother’s breast and at our father’s side. If there is anything that a HOME church should do and be , it is LOVE!
People become more easily alienated or sense that in a larger church environment. Is there any wonder that the average church size in America is 75. There’s enough people to know and love without getting lost in the crowd. However, the home church attendees need to remember that it’s a “training ground” to go OUT and love others. It’s not just for me and my (home group).
I John 4:16 reminds us that those who dwell in in love are doing so only because they live so much of their life in God!
John 13:35 then follows up with the evangelical and practical message that people can only KNOW that we’re Christians not by the size of our church group, not by any prophecies that we utter, but by the love that we have for one another.
We can accomplish both of those Scriptures in “any form” or format. It’s not how you meet, where you meet, or with how many you meet, but that YOU ARE LOVE & LOVING.
And that needs to begin in the HOME.
