Human Product?

The Bible is a sacred book: actually a sacred library of some 60+ books.

The Bible is also a HUMAN product wherein the Old Testament came from individuals of ancient Israel while the New Testament is a product of early Christian communities and the Roman emperors. Saying that the Bible is a human product does not diminish its sacredness unless you have made the Bible an idol and claim it to be inerrant and infallible.

Much of the Bible is greatly INSPIRING.

Stating that the Bible is a product of men who were inspired by God does not lessen its importance, wisdom, and insights. The Bible is the WORD of God (especially for Christians) but it isn’t the WORDS of God: rather, of mankind.

Once we begin to allow the Spirit to guide us with discernment as to what is the truth for today versus what did the writers thousands of years ago think was truth then, the Bible comes ALIVE with rhema instructions. We then begin to ask ourselves-

>Did God command genocide of tens of thousands of people?
>Did God instruct that obedient children should be stoned?
>Did God ever say that slavery was okay?
>Did God forbid remarriage after divorce?
>Did God command that adulterers be stoned to death?
>Did God pronounce that women should be silent in church
?

If you think the Bible was written by God, not men, and that it is inerrant and infallible, you MUST!

I don’t!

The God I follow is LOVE.
