Mine has changed- radically!
It’s an understatement to say that our image of God, or lack thereof, determines our life. Even if you believe there is no God, and you were and are an accident, “that” mentality itself is determining the quality of your life. The Old Testament view of God has royally screwed up a lot of people. And much of the church has continued that paradigm even though Jesus came to correct the record. So where are you regarding your view of God?
There are many people that simply cannot embrace the “grace” of God because they do not see God as love. Is the Bible really that skitzophrenic: an angry God, a loving God. Which is He? Can we know? What can we trust?
I trust Jesus Christ!
Regardless of what view you want to take on the Old Testament: mythology, metaphoric, literal-historical, or fantasy, all and everything was corrected with the life of Jesus who through His life and through those who chronicled and wrote about his life informed us of the following.
1-God is LOVE!
2-Only God is good!
3-God is not out there somewhere behind a planet or star!
4-God is within us and is us to whatever degree we allow.
5-God is merciful, long-suffering, and forgiving.
6-All of Gods thoughts about us are good
7-All will be saved after divine judgment has been rendered.
It’s all GOOD NEWS!
This isn’t the God I was introduced to decades ago as I began my Christian journey; however, this is the God I talk with and enjoy every moment of my day.
